Oh!- the humanity of it!

The crash scene was horrible- just terrible to behold.

Something nobody should ever see.

You will look, though- won't you!

Other solutions

Israel has its back to the wall- although they are very far from out of the fight.

Now given that the Arabs want them gone (preferably dead), the left-dominated media condemns them for daring to fight back against a mere few thousand rocket attacks and the felching rimjaws of the UN want them to likewise disappear.

Would another country with lots of underused land invite the whole country to pack up and move there?

Like New Zealand?

We could do a lot worse that to welcome a nation of hard-working go-getters to relocate to our mostly empty spaces. Look what they did in a desert in sixty years! It would be a huge task and would take some years to complete but all things are possible. Like surviving with bomb-toting pychos all around your homeland!

With there wealth and workers plus help from all the arseholes who want them gone from the middle east- dig deep you scumbags and put it where your mouths are!- new cities would soon be built along with all the needed infrastructure. If we went with this idea- we could surely can the RMA!

We would also have one kick-arse army and a real air force!

And last but not least- all the ingrate rag-heads living here now would have plenty of spare room back in Palestine- back with the faithful!

Tell me what is wrong here

5.5 meter runabout about $40k second hand

Marine Radio- $ 248
GPS- $269

If you can afford the first one, you can afford the other stuff.

Of course, when you get the bill for the rescue because you were a dumbass and went out unprepared- you won't be buying any of this sort of stuff for a bit...

Retards on the road

It's my favorite time of year- when all the non-drivers take to the roads!

For once they get past the 50kph sign and are from that point in brain arrest.

There are several main groups.

The- 'I drive EVERYWHERE at 65k' group - on the open road, down the driveway, though snowstorms and in front of ambulances with beacons and sirens on.

The 'I'm Fuckin' Speed Racer' types- they must overtake at all costs- anywhere, in all conditions and with total disregard for anyone else using the road. It's a damn shame more of them don't die in flames, down a bank out the back of nowhere.

The 'Nervous Nana'- only travels at 2/3 the speed limit 'to be safe'. Drives a new three-door or a Pirus if they have money.

The 'I haven't got a fucking clue where I am/are going/how I'm going to get there' Too mean to buy a map or a GPS. In the unlikely event that they ask you for instructions, it is always fun to put on a German accent and act confused. That's the payback for being trapped behind one for an hour as they slow down to look around like those fairground clown's heads.

The 'Harrased Parent'- easily recognised by the overloaded station wagon and obnoxious children/wives. Avoid them they may be armed when the snap.

The 'Non-driver'- for the rest of the year they only drive to the railway station, kids school or shops. This is the first time in a year they have driven more than five km. They may display any or all of the above behaviours.

I'm working in a point between the holiday spots.

I wonder how long it is before I'm first on the scene to some bloody mess this year?

(last year was a doozy!)

And?

"Israel has launched air strikes on Gaza for a second successive day, piling pressure on Hamas after 229 people were killed in one of the bloodiest 24 hours for Palestinians in 60 years of conflict with the Jewish state..."

GOOD!

Those pricks don't get half the kicking around that they deserve!

Carry on!

Blogging made more difficult

By the arrival of Christmas presents.

Namely, two MP3 devices.

Now I knew these things could play movies- but I thought "who would want to watch a movie on a teenie-weenie screen?"

Now I know- and not content with ripping all the music CD's, they spend all day downloading stuff to play on them!

When I first got the InterLink on, I had a 3 MEG allowance and started to pay about $2/meg. Now we are downloading a couple of Gig a day!

If it's not that, it's looking for cheats for the PSP games.

I'm glad I signed up when they offered an unlimited downloading package!

Hell, I wouldn't tell anybody if I had if I had shagged her, either!

It ain't Christmas now

But we don't forget those who are STILL WORKING.

The soldiers, sailors, airmen, policemen, firemen, ambulance officers, nurses, doctors, CO's, water & sewer workers, power line workers and all the many others that work 365 days a year without us giving them a thought unless something fucks up!

I'm one of you and right now raising a glass to my brethren on duty today!

Bugger!

Dago Red- empty
Vin Rouge Ordinare- empty

Back to Coopers Bitter.

On the uniformed branch of the IRD

On the subject of 'speeding', I can't say it much better than the chap here

There is a speed trap here at the bottom of an incline, the camera being placed near where the road goes from 50 kph to 100 kph and of course everyone but Horace Wimp is accelerating before actually passing the 100k sign.

I know this because I got pinged there twice this year. Watching the road, not the gauges, in my diesel ute which accelerates like a mule train (and has a similar top speed)

Also, being a local, I happen to know that the injury accidents in this area are a number very close to- if not actually-ZERO.

It's just a bloody cash cow!

I wish the cops were as well resourced for nabbing the boy racers doing burnouts, the wankers hooning on minibikes about town and the bloody non-road legal profusion of tractors and agricultural vehicles clogging the roads driving from one town to another at 40kph!

The 12 Days of Christmas

Have a damn fine Christmas!

Time to become comfortably numb!

Trampoline finally assembled
Drive software for new toys loaded
Mammal flesh charring on flame-pit
In-laws visited
Beer kegs connected to tap

Shot over.
Shot out.

Drink for effect- out.

For you Matrix fans

Q- What does the jump in the Matrix training software have in common with kitsets from the Warehouse?

A- NOBODY makes it the first time!

(now it's back to trying to dissolve the cholesterol from breakfast with Navy Rum & coffee)

Wednesday, December 24, 2008

An impressive feat!

"I ran around and all I could see was this baby's head sticking out from under the grille. He wasn't breathing."

"All I could think of was I had to get that train off him, but I couldn't get it to budge by myself. I screamed out at Marie and somehow I don't know how we did it we lifted it up and shoved it back about two metres.

"The strength came from nowhere; it was that mother's natural instinct that just kicked in like an adrenaline rush. I knew if we waited any longer that little boy was going to die right there."

More here:

800 kg of engine alone.

Those two deserve a DB!

Rage against the Machine

This blogger has previously warned that the gloves are off.

I refuse to subscribe to the pretense that we must all be civil to each other. In other words, those on the left must be allowed to vent their spleen on us and in return get a civil retort. Not friggin' here!

If you dislike me or my views, fine. Make your feelings known on YOUR OWN blog. The one that gets four hits a week, in all probability.

This is my soapbox- find your own!

Be assured that those SEEKING information may do so freely. I'm more than happy to explain or elaborate.

If you come to sneer or take the piss- you will get the blog equivalent of a size 12 steel-cap in the gonads.

And for the record- if you had ANY understanding of the Libertarianz, you would know that the one thing we are NOT are herd beasts. We come in all shapes, sizes and temperments. There are some that will give your digs a well reasoned rebuttal. There are others that will give you an invitation to sex and travel.

I'm one of the latter.

The colour of the sky on your planet is...?

"Associate Corrections Minister Pita Sharples rates the Christmas meal prisoners will eat next Thursday in 20 jails as better than basic average lunchtime restaurant fare..."

If I got a restaurant meal worse than prison food, someone would be washing it out of their hair shortly after!

I know all too well what prison food is like. Nutritious, adequate and that's about it. Way behind army rations and hospital fare.

As it should be.

In fact, it's too good for most of the filth that receive it.

I have dined in Nz's finest restaurants- and a few at the other end of the market. Never have I been served up anything like prison food, with the possible exception of 1965 Army canned rations that were handed out during the late '70's. And while those trailed on the quality side, they were ahead in quantity!

Pita Sharples, you don't know what you are talking about- if you find Corrections food that good- you would be more of an ascetic!

Friday Funnies

Since we are over this greenie bullshit...

How about a few of these?

They will buy us the time for this new nuclear technology to come on line.

Or the 8% that voted green can all get busy in a giant treadmill- for the common good...

Laws has it right!

"Wanganui mayor Michael Laws has joined the debate about parents sharing beds with babies, calling a warning by the Whanganui District Health Board "little more than politically correct nonsense...".

I actually listened to this show. He has it right. Almost all parents- at some point- put a grumpy baby in our bed to sooth them. We don't smother them because we are acutely aware that they are there. AND want them out at first opportunity!

MOST of the smotherings- and I want to emphasis- NOT ALL- are from she-elephants and/or the drug or booze addled with a BMI larger than their IQ.

I'm sure many large mammals kill their young this way.

By being large and dumb, that is!

Assholes that really wind me up

... are often heard on the radio.

Today' s arse-wipe was a towel-head called up to explain the significance of throwing shoes. The jumped up sand-ape started on a rant about the evil George Bush and what a great thing it was that this tit of a journo threw his jandals.

Never mind the actual question he was asked.

This prick was a so-called Iraqi community leader from the 'Village of the Damned' (AKA Christchurch)

I suggest he get his arse back to the filthy shithole he fled, given that the West is such an evil place.

NOW.

Art appreciation

Bettie- you will get a cameo in my next book!

You will not be forgotten...

To correct an inaccuracy

I have received an email informing me that my picture of the late Bettie Page was, in fact, that of an actor playing her.

The above picture is indeed Bettie!

If there is to be a heaven, Bettie would have to be there. For without her- it would not be...

Eggnogg made easy

Forget all the recipes involving cooking eggs and more steps than the Palliser Lighthouse.

Take the following:

1 litre of ready-made custard
300 mls cream
one teaspoon vanilla essence
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

mix well, adding dark rum until you can't taste all the other shit.

Easy!

She disagreed with something that ate her

"A Hastings family were forced to escape their house through a window after two dogs began fighting inside yesterday evening, police said today..."

What can I say but:

HA! HA!

You get everything you deserve owning these friggin' beasts.

I'm just glad to see that it isn't some other poor sod being mauled THIS TIME!

Told you so!

I do believe I said (although it may not have been here) that this arsehole should have had his balls removed!

Now WE are paying for not doing so!

The Jar Jar Binks Prat of the Week Award

"...Labour and the Greens are furious at National's tactics.

Labour leader Phil Goff said that by the time National had passed its bills under urgency it would have rammed more through all their stages without going to a parliamentary select committee than Labour had done during nine years in office.

While Labour had often used urgency, it was rare for it to push a bill through all three stages under urgency, he said..."

Now let me see- Before the election, the Nats said they would bring in these laws. They said they were going to hit the ground running.

They won the election, presumably on these election issues.

They delivered.

Eat shit and die, Phil!

Wednesday, December 10, 2008

You lost- suck it up.

"Prime Minister John Key is under fire over plans to rush through law changes before Christmas giving employers the right to sack staff in their first 90 days on the job.

Unions criticised the Government's refusal to allow a public debate and called it an attack on workers' fundamental legal rights..."

It was a well-publicized move and going by the way the vote went at the elections, one that has plenty of support.

Of course the usual hand-wringing apologists for the terminally useless are whining like a bus-load of Pommie tourists!

Meanwhile , in the real world- employers don't actually want a constant churn of new employees. They need training and that costs time and money. But when you hire a dud, you want to get rid of them like dead fish- now- not after 'going through the process', that being heavily weighted in favour of the dud.

Here is another news flash- they other employers want them gone and replaced too. Nobody likes carrying some useless bastard who should be capapble of doing the job. I've seen more than a few of them come and go over the years- and they never went soon enough. Sometimes it's not a matter of competency- they are just possessed of a toxic personality and as welcome as Phillip Alpers at a gun club function.

Personally, I would have liked to have seen the period extended to six months, as in a more technical roll it can take longer than three months to do a fair assessment of a newbie- although you generally have a fair idea they won't cut it.

Really, this is geared towards the non-skilled or entry point worker who does not have a checkable CV to offer. (and employers SHOULD check bloody CV's!) I don't see it being a problem to the skilled or professional worker. Including those contemplating moving back to NZ- despite what the Chicken Little red team are squarking.

Of course there will be the inevitable asshole employers who will use this to perform some kind of employment rort.

But ask yourself- would you really want to work for one of these creeps?

Community based sentencing- make it HURT!

Now I find crimes like this totally inexcusable. What possible harm or offense can a kindergarten have ever caused these crap-heads?

"...The vegetable garden was ruined, spouting broken and a window smashed after about 20 youths went on a mid-afternoon vandalism spree..."

Now some may wonder why I bother about this sort of thing when people are being killed, robbed and generally assailed.

Because this sort of lawlessness is where it starts. I saw it so often when reading case histories- the first charge on many record was Theft of a Bicycle. Small stuff that goes on along the path to being a lifer. Crimes punished with a slap on the hand with a wet WINZ voucher.

When one complains, it is good form to propose a remedy.

I think this sort of offense (for a first offense) is best served with a non-custodial sentence. A couple of years of community service should teach a lesson. None of these 150 hour sentences.

Failure to turn up and do your time gets the time doubled. Each day missed gets a day in the local stocks!

Technology

Now I know how to download a movie and reformat it to get it on a IPod thingy.

Gee- how did I manage to live without knowing that!

Probably the same way I manage to get from A to B without a GPS.

I often wonder why people put these in their vehicles when they can't even operate the friggin' indicator switch, the rear-vision mirror or the speedometer!

And don't get me started on texting! Never has so little been said by so many at such great expense!

Martinborough Water Quality

The saga continues here:

A word of advice to the amateur journos at the Wairarapa Times-Age-

Just ask this question, which is a simple yes-no.

"Does the Martinborough town water meet the NZ Drinking Water Standards 2005? "

Easy, aye?

A killing is a friggin' killing!

Enough with the 'Hate Crime' shit!

Murder is despicable whatever the motive!

Cut the PC shit- It's just another unlawful taking of a life.

It's no worse- or better- when the victim is somebody you don't like.

The song remains the same

"Motorists face a blitz from 43 new speed cameras - with the first due to be introduced in time for Christmas holiday traffic..."

I'm sure these were ordered under the old powers-that-be, but the new masters have no hesitation in milking this old cash cow!

(National don't get a free ride, in case you were wondering!)

More on toys

After much waiting and deliberating, I brought a new TV today.

Got a Samsung 32" LCD and what a difference! The picture is fantastic- with my eyes, I see no need to buy the expensive full HD set!

Right now it is like looking out a window watching the BBC's 'Walking with dinosaurs'.

I looked at a bigger set, but at $849 for the one I got,I decided not to go for the bigger one at 50% more.

Maybe one day I will get a 40+ inch set (now why the hell do they still use inches!)

Musing on Toys

4 gig MP3 player- $129

It's not so long ago that I remember memory selling for $100 per meg!

And some time before that a portable Walkman-type tape player cost $500 and used one change of four batteries per tape!

It's a shame motorcycles don't follow this trend- not that I would be allowed one these days!

Sharps Shooting

45-70- 2 1/2 inches at 200 yards

And I'm still sighting in

That beats the hell out of the WEATHERBY 1 1/2 inch guarantee at 100 yards.

And I'm using peep sights

Drug users- go for it!

I'm all for ALL drugs being made totally legal.

The flip side is that I'm ALL for crimes committed whilst using drugs being punished most severely.

In other words, drug-fueled crims go to the great gulag in the sky.

For the worst ones- murderers and KF's- Jack Ketch.

For the rest- it's off to the loser colony, where you get your drugs supplied by Mr Taxpayer.
The cost being that you remain their forever. Oh- and while the drugs are supplied by taxpayer's largess - the food must be earned- by sorting the recyclables out of the countries rubbish.

If you want out- its five years of testing drug-free- easy in- not so easy out!

When Fucktards Attack

You nail their arses to the wall!

"A group of Palmerston North schoolgirls were left bruised and stained after a drive-by paintball attack..."

The idiot that did this needs to be dealt to with the full weight of what the law permits.

Paintball is a lot of fun. It's a full-on contact sport and the paint balls hurt. Like being tackled hard- that's OK when its between two players.

It's very not OK to tackle some stranger walking down the street! Which is analogous to shooting a stranger with a paintball.

I'm betting the paintballers are pissed at this. This sort of bullshit is what puts a shitload of restrictions on a sport. Like making them have firearms licenses and all the expenses that go with them.

How about just whaling the hide off the cretin that thought it might be a good lark to shoot up a few random folks on the footpath?

I think that would put it right!

More prison- Sherriff Joe Style

"The new Government's hardline stance on crime means more inmates may have to share cells, increasing the risk of prison violence..."

That's a big fat 'so what'.

Put up tents.
Ring them with razor wire.
Concrete shower blocks.
Concrete kitchen consisting of big pots to boil potatoes and cabbage.
Army to provide border control.

Easy and cheap.

If the scrotes behave REAL well, they MAY get a transfer to a regular prison!

Oh- and make them work 14 hrs a day, seven days a week sorting rubbish into recyclables, to defer costs. Their rations depend on meeting quotas!

Bullshit Alert

"...The survey found one in four Kiwis say the poor quality of their home has made someone living in them sick, and indicated the severe cost of poorly performing homes..."

If we were such a pathetic weak species we never would have made it this far.

MOST OF THE WORLD would love to have houses like the million supposed sub-standard ones mentioned in this beat-up.

So modern houses are better than those made thirty-plus years ago? Is that not how it should be? My house is 1960's. It isn't cold or damp. The previous owners fitted ceiling insulation, bathroom ventilation and a log burner, I have added a heat pump and low energy lighting. AT OUR OWN EXPENSE and without some government directive.

This is what you do if you want to be a bit more comfortable, pay for less power and want to cut maintenance costs due to damp. If you chose not to heat, ventilate or wear a friggin' jersey when it's cold- that is your outlook.

So stick the mandatory energy standard for houses where the monkey hides his nuts!

This all smack of the 'won't you think of the children!' cry heard when some group has an axe to grind.

Or some prick is after regulations that will drum up trade for HIS business- this being the more probable scenario.

Hollywood!

"An estimated 60 gang members are reported to have taken to each other armed with everything from baseball bats to machetes, and some have used their vehicles to try to run others down on the footpaths of South Rd near the southern edge of the town."

Link:

Riiiight... So 60 scrotes going all out and and nobody is dead. They used to do better than that with pointed sticks and rocks.

About the only thing they can hit when they figure out how to fire a rifle is a nearby baby.

How does it feel to be worse at fighting than the French Chaplain Corp?

THX 1138 - sexact alert!

Caught on camera! Once is trying it out, an hour of this is just being a Charlie Uniform November Tango! Especially when you are racing one of your kids on another one.

Funny how this prick disappeared after I came out with the camera and took a photo. No, I'm not off to the cops- I'm going to post it on the net and show everybody the bogan plonker caught racing up & down the street on something that sounds like a castrated bumble bee.

Truth is weirder than fiction!

Wally World Whale Wampage!

I can picture it so easily- just imagine being in a crowded Warehouse (shudder!) when they announce 75% off size 26 stretch tights and Tim Tams!

I can feel the terror of being caught in a tsunami of quivering she-mountains, bogans and zimmer frames!

Like this poor sod!

A survey to do

As with these blog tag things, I usually ignore surveys.

But occasionally it amuses me to do one.

Today's one was from the local council- and they left plenty of room for comments!

Which is just as well, as I have a few to make- all along the lines of 'sod off and stay the hell out of our lives!'

Local councils are having far too much input into our lives and need slapping about the head until they realize that parks, poos and potholes should be their entire domain.

Rodney is going to have his hands full with them, and I might recommend to him the cesspool of the South Wairarapa District Council- notorious for its ineptitude even amongst fellow councils!

Tear them a new one!

Green but not clean

"A scientific report has found water to be undrinkable in the wine mecca of Martinborough and probably contaminated with Giardia.

Martinborough man George Sanderson, who sought scientific help to solve the mystery of his dying fish, got more than he bargained on with a water quality report that has just come back.

George Sanderson was stunned when he received the report from a Taranaki laboratory warning the water he had sent, that was from Martinborough's town supply and came from his household tap, failed to meet drinking water standards; was "potentially harmful" without treatment and had a "high probability" of containing the dreaded Giardia bug..."

Told you so!

Note the point in the linked article here that mentions a contaminated aquifer.

Ever hear of Walkerton?

Not part of the problem, no need to feel guilt!

I won't be bothering with white ribbons.

I have no need to 'Prove' that I'm against thuggery and not beating up woman is the default setting, in my book.

I'm afraid it smacks too much of 'if you ain't for us, you are against us' That may or may not be the intent, but that is how it comes across to me.

If you want to empower women, a small gift from Smith & Wesson will go a lot further than a bit of white tape. Try to make THAT happen here if you really want to do something for protecting women!

Those on the minimum wage

The minimum wage (or similar-plus or minus a couple of $/hr) is for entry-point positions. For jobs that get you started in a career.

The idea is that, like with being on a benefit, you don't stay there for long.

You move upwards as you learn and are worth more.

Now some choose (or in a very few cases- don't because of their minimal abilities) to stay in these jobs. Why- who really knows, but I would guess because they are unwilling to take on any responsibility or to try and extend themselves. Unlike the poor sod who collects the supermarket trolleys- I have FAR more respect for him- he's doing the best he can!

OK- fine- you want to spend XX years in a scut job and are there because you are slightly cheaper than a machine. Don't bother crying when the job is no longer economic or the machine becomes cheaper. To be blunt- you are not worth much- the job you were doing was probably barely economic.

In the linked example, you are losing your job because of the greenie push to get everyone away from supermarket bags. A loss of ten percent of the market and its game over for you.

Now its off to McD's or shelf-stacking at the Red Shed. It would be a lot worse if you lost a skilled job and had to go back and climb the ladder again. But you never got on it.

And as for the hand-wringer that said:

Porirua Deputy Mayor Litea Ah Hoi said she would help to fast-track the men into benefits under a joint council and Social Development Ministry scheme.

"...The company had "taken 16 years of Aki's life ... To be offering $1000 for 16 years of service is absolutely disgusting..."

What a load of arse!- this person was paid for their work and choose to stay with this company. That's called a voluntary contract, agreed to by both parties. The council toadie should find real work. There must be some streets around needing sweeping...

UPDATE:

Not that it has any great bearing on the case, but out of interest:

Actually this is the minimum wage:

"The minimum wage for employees aged 16 years and over rose to $12 an hour before tax on 1 April 2008, except for new entrants and employees subject to the minimum training wage. That’s $96 for an eight hour day, or $480 for a 40 hour week."

Also WFF:

Your weekly payment
From the details you have entered your weekly payment has been estimated as
$266.00

Indeed- why not!

'I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes, and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to earn that pay check, I work on a rig site for a Fort McMurray construction project. At any time I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem. HOWEVER, what I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Understand - I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their fanny, drinking beer and smoking dope. Could you imagine how much money this country would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? '

Here it is!

A bit of background behind the murdering scum that explains the problem!

"Speaking exclusively to Sunday News, William says he is worried about his sons' welfare inside prison.

"They are going to do it hard, do it real real hard, and I feel sorry for them," he said.

"What has happened has happened, but I can still say to you that I am proud of my boys.

"I am not embarrassed to be their dad. I will stand up for them until I die.

"That is Maori culture and that's the way it is..."

And that why we have a problem.

I would have disowned my son, were he a part of that atrocity!

Sunday Musings

I was about to write on a totally unrelated matter, but somebody got on the PC and lost my place.

Never mind- there is always something else to bang on about. I don't suffer from that 'writer's block' shit!

I was reflecting back on people who I have known over 2-3 decades. Life is a funny old thing and it has a habit of going a way that, back then, you did not really see.

Amongst those I have known the longest, are folks that have come from the sort of backgrounds the bleeding hearts bang on about. While not strictly abusive (apart from the odd incident), they were certainly raised by parents that were totally neglectful. Alcoholic, uninterested, callous and uncaring were words I would use without reservation.

But for the greater part, they have gone on to raise children in a better manner (much better!) than in which they were raised. None did great things, had more than menial jobs, traveled or furthered their education. But they raised their kids to be a bit better than themselves. They stayed out of jail and stayed in employment.

So poverty isn't necessarily a highway to the scrapheap- despite what many will tell you.

It's interesting how the hot young things have so often gone on to be drabs (and I'm being charitable here!) and how so many of the plain Jane's are now seriously hot 40-somethings!

One I still keep in touch with was was a country girl who always got about in tracksuit pants, a holey jersey and gumboots. She was always in some kind of scut jub and would be best described at 20, as a wholesome country girl with a heart of gold. Not particularly attractive, not ugly- very ordinary.

25 years later- A self-made millionaire- never seen without makeup and designer gear and looks fantastic at 45. Still that country girl with a heart of gold too!

Another chap who was a real high-flier. NZ head of a major corporation, mortgage-free by 35, everything going for him.

Now an alcoholic living in a boarding house. Prospects are slim.

You just can't always tell...

Tag- you are IT!

I have just been pinged by one of these blog tag thingies by Annie Fox- so:

  1. I hate telephones
  2. I like Calvados and Dominican cigars
  3. My favorite food is smoked salmon
  4. I own 23 assorted firearms and that ain't enough
  5. My lotto fantasy is to be an eccentric writer living the life of Jubal Harshaw
  6. I invented the foulest tasting cocktail known to man
  7. I have always wanted to watch a space shuttle or large rocket take off.

The rules are:
1. Link to the person who tagged you
2. Post the rules
3. Share seven random or weird facts about yourself
4. Tag 7 random people at the end of the post with their links
5. Let each person know they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Right- should you accept this mission- you can write something too!
Crusader Rabbit
Gecko
Barnsley Bill
Cactus Kate
Whale Oil
Theo Spark
Zen Tiger

What to do?

Amidst the murder most foul of young lives in this country, there is much talk (and that's about all) on what to do about it.

As usual, most miss the point and buy into collectivist guilt over circumstances that are totally out of our control.

How the hell can WE be responsible for the conscious decision of others to lead a life outside of normal decent society- without turning into a fascist big brother (or more likely, sister) state?

There ARE several things within our power to move towards this.

Most importantly- Cut off the money supply that makes the lifestyle possible. Idle hands need to be kept busy and tired persons are less likely to be bothered with mischief.

On a more personal level, when contemplating the wretched children in this land I realized that the most useful thing that I could do was to make more effort to be a better parent- as we can all try to do anything just a bit better. Just to pay a bit more attention, read to them, play with them a bit more than before.

And you will be rewarded for it. The best reward being that THEY will be good parents, trying to be better one day.

One day I will be asked how to be a father and I will tell my son- 'Just try to do it a bit better than me- and tell your son that one day'

Report thy neighbor!

SO we have been told we need to report any signs of child abuse (or indeed, any wrongdoing)

I can tell you that I have done so on more than a few occasions. AND the police even phoned my later to thank me for bringing the matter to their attention the last time I called them!

In the last incident- there have been a few over the years- there was a major fight going on between a low-life and his harridan women, in the presence of small children. If the children were not there, I would have been happy to let them batter each other insensible- more insensible, anyway.

I'm by no means what you could call a busybody neighbor, but when you disturb my peace, I take an interest in you!

Having said all that, I can't bring myself to condemn those who see abuse next door and don't report it. It's not that these people don't know right from wrong- it's fear.

Fear of being turned on themselves- of having cars and houses trashed. And those fears are very valid. Because in NZ, you have the basilisk-like gaze of the law upon you, should you dare to defend yourself.

And there is only one way to defend yourself against a group of thugs. With a firearm.

The police know that- they rightfully defend their own who take this means of self-preservation.

The crown prosecution department however, will try to make some charge stick and the victim is further victimized as they are sucked dry of funds defending themselves for doing what is their right in law.

When we can truly defend ourselves, maybe we will be a bit more forthcoming in reporting the lawless.

ACT- get busy on this!

An observation

I noted that almost without exception- a person would throw a real grenade at lest 5 meters further than a practice grenade.

The moral of the story is that when it bites YOU on the arse- you can always make more effort to sort the problem.

Here endth the lesson.

More show & tell

My Remington Model 700 circa 1975.
It's a 6mm Remington and shoot unders an inch at 200 meters-IF you use 100 grain round point (non-boattail) Sierras and NOTHING ELSE. Anything else and it shoots worse than my old 2-groove No. 4 Lee Enfield! The trigger is so damned light it works by friggin' telekinesis!

This piece of wood & steel DEFINITELY needs a girl's name! It really needs a photographer like Gecko to do it justice- this is a damn fine looking rifle

I used to think it was heavy until I got the Sharps!

New from old

This was an old medical instrument case that was to be thrown out. A bit of TLC and the wife has a new jewelery box. (Thanks to the box being about 5mm too small for the Harper's Ferry!)

More gun stuff

The latest 'Big Boys Toy'

Pedersoli 1874 Sharps .45-70 with Creedmore vernier sight.

Still unfired- that will change tomorrow.

500 grain lead slug on top of 33.5 grains of AR2206H with the secret card & wad combination which shoots sub MOA- when I have my shit together!

Extreme cruelty warning

I have been following the 'Baby P' story over in the UK. If anything its a shade darker than the vile acts of cruelty that are currently before the courts here.

Don't follow the link if you are easily upset by such heinous acts. Seriously- this is sick shit and that's coming from an ex-CO who worked on the deviants wing .

I post it because this sort of evil should never be hidden away.

I cannot imagine a suitable torment for those responsible for such acts- well- actually I could, but to do so would place me on their level and I'm better than that.

All I can suggest is a few years in a dark and silent padded cell on a bland diet to contemplate their upcoming execution.

2 hrd 4 skool

"Shakespeare's plays and other great works of literature considered too difficult for some pupils will disappear from classrooms under proposed changes to the curriculum, alarmed principals say.

There are also fears that basic content in maths, history and business studies will be axed in a drive to make subjects easier, "dumbing down" schoolchildren and further undermining NCEA..."

Playing to the bottom denominator yet again. I wish they wouldn't do that. The thickos shall remain as dumb as mud, no matter how far they lower the bar.

'I had to read Shakespeare at school, but for mine own part, it was Greek to me.'

In the sights

As with men, some government departments are more equal than others.

But at the least a little reorganization is needed.

Tonight I will look at two, whom I consider essential. Defense and Corrections.

Both are in need of a little 'brain' surgery and the insertion of a backbone.

Defence:

The air force is gone- such as is left of it. Maritime into the Navy and the rest into the army. Sorry but you have to swap the Brylcreem for Vaseline.

Other ranks can rest easy. All those senior officers- start packing.

Our army is small. Elsewhere an infantry regiment is run by a Colonel. Make it so.
That means we would have a Brigadier in overall charge. Not a flock of frickin' Generals as we have now. (In my day we had ONE Major General)

Long service is rewarded with a medal- not a bullshit rank. This is not Africa.

Same deal with the Navy. The US would have a Lt. Commander in charge of a Frigate. Not a bloody Captain (or more likely a Rear Admiral).

Now- Corrections:

Everyone in National office pack your bags- clear your comic books and gay porn out of your desks. You are to be replaced with people who have actually done their time on the floor.

Like it used to be- when a prison was a real prison. When they had Governors and Superintendents- not bloody managers! When all you needed to run a wing was a muster book- not a bloody useless multi-million dollar computer system.

When all the able-bodied worked to at least defer the costs. With the right political will prisons could be at least self-funding- but more on that later.

A new direction

Unlike some wannabes, I and many of the other bloggers who have been around for some years, are not about to fade away.

When dealing with politics, ones work is never done!

While we have played our part in the downfall of Hellengrad, the battle is far from done. A new flag hangs over the town square, but the opposition troops are still at large- even if their generalissimo's have decamped.

I'm talking about the public service.

THERE is the enemy. The unelected Gauliters who will continue to push the agendas of the old order.

They need to be rooted out and removed. Their undoubted gold-plated parachutes are just the price to pay- we knew it was there and that the cost would be high.

A good place to start would be amongst senior police who have never swung a baton, much less been bashed, spat on or otherwise physically assailed.

As with playing the opposition, other new masters will need US to do their work in sniffing out waste and corruption- as well as reminding the voters exactly why they voted the way they did.

The front is broken- time to roll up the rear!

It appears that a vehicle carrying the public service payroll to Wellington has overturned.

As would be expected, the spilling of its cargo has caused chaos to the scene of the accident!

Ninety Years

I Remember...

A Local War Memorial

117 Linden Trees were planted here after WWI. Each representing a dead serviceman from this town.

The town now has a population of about 2000. It was smaller then...

Is it just me or...

Is it just me that thinks that drinking on the front lawn (in an urban setting) is awfully common- especially at Ten in the morning?

Is it just me that gets pissed off when when the drinkers are all on benefits (fact- not assumption- I know who they are)?

Is it just me that finds this particularly annoying when you have just worked three weeks (80+ hours each) straight and have another week to go before your two days off?

Is it just me that thinks of my huge PAYE deductions when I see this?

Am I selfish to think that my taxes would be better spent on my children than these bludgers?

Do I have any sympathy for idiots who dial 111 when liarbore gets the boot? (he should have been prosecuted for wasting taxpayer money!)

Why Libertarianz?

This post was planned before the couple of gobshites started trolling here, but not being a taxpayer-funded blog my posts have to wait until I can find time to write them up. By the way- its not the question- its the way you ask it.

Now many (or perhaps not so many) may wonder why on earth I support Libertarianz.

It's a small party catching a minute fraction of the vote.

Likewise, the chances of them getting a seat, much less crossing 5% are roughly the same as a welk surviving a supernova.

So, you ask- why 'throw away' your votes?

There are a multitude of reasons:

Libertarianz is about a lot more than an attempt to gain power. It's about ideas- specifically getting ideas 'out there'. An example is in language- How often did you hear the terms 'Nanny State' and 'Politically Correct' before Lindsay Perigo' started using them on his radio show?

Once you get the words into the language, people start wondering about them and begin that perilous process of THINKING! Those that still can.

Then there is the simple fact that all movements have to start somewhere. Most start small and stay that way for some time. Usually they are considered insignificant and somewhat pathetic.
As were the Suffragettes and the Abolitionists.

When I was young, the idea that a man of colour would be President of the USA was up there with an invasion from Mars!

So things change. History is a record of achievements pronounced impossible by the experts.

I know that this won't happen overnight- or in my lifetime.I will never see the Totoras that I have planted in their full glory either. That didn't mean it wasn't worth planting them, keeping the hares and sheep away from them and watering them in a drought. I'm doing this for the future generations and that makes it worth it to me.

All lot of you say the concept sounds all very nice -'utopian' is usually the word used- but it won't work given human nature.

I agree.

It won't work right now- not in its totality. There are too may flawed persons out there- now.
The Libertarian way will be viable when there are sufficent numbers of voters wanting to live this way.

Meanwhile, we try to introduce ideas and concepts. Hell- I hope ANY parties poach our policies! The policies are what it is all about. Freedom from the initiation of force and a government that exists only to protecting this right.

Libertarianz policy is not meant to take effect the day after an election- apart from in a few individual's dreams! Anyone who has bothered to study the website would see that there is a plan for transition. Contrary to what some want to believe- we work and live in the real world too! probably far more than a lot of academics and politicians!

Ten years ago- nobody had heard of Libertarianz. Now we are the best known of the 'little' parties. We are getting bigger- slowly but surely.

The fact that we get less votes than a couple of guys having a bit of a laugh is not really a worry. They got far more media exposure and hell- they were a vehicle for gathering protest votes. Years ago, pre-MMP I lived in a Labor stronghold- they always won with a huge majority. So I voted Macgillicuddy Serious Party. That's what Bill & Ben got- protest votes.

Libertarianz got votes from people who had done a bit of thinking. I'm damned pleased to live in the electorate that had 419 of them!

Finally- I know we are getting our messages out there, as the state-worshipers get so damned worked up about a few insignificant utopians...

The most principled electorate!

Wairarapa

Libertarianz 59 McGRATH, RichardLIB419

Well done Richard!

Get on with it!

Time to fall on your Sword!

or perhaps its "...revolver, one bullet- you know what to do!"

Dumbocracy

It started out as a good idea, but turned to custard.

When it all started, one had to meet certain criteria. You had to be of mature age and a property owner and were disqualified if you were deemed not suitable by being mad, criminal, poor or a woman.

Now everybody gets a vote unless you are totally criminally barking or have been sentenced to more than three years imprisonment.

BAD BAD BAD!!!

As The Master RAH predicted many years ago, this leads to a 'Bread and circuses' mentality. He sure got it right!

I totally fail to see how somebody can take part in the game without holding a few chips. IMNSHO, ONLY those who pay more in tax than they receive taxpayer money (WFF, accommodation allowances, student benefits, etc) get a vote. The one exception being pensioners who have paid their dues.

Don't like it- tough. Get a job or if you need supporting, defer to those who pay your way.

Show some gratitude and friggin' humility if you rely on largesse to live!

Your doom decided

Who will they hate now?

Who will the left hate now that their darling is in charge of the USA?

It's going to be a bit hard to condemn the US for all the problems of the world with their pet sock puppet on the throne!

Oh dear, I guess it will just be the twisted inward self-hating as usual with no BushChimpHitler to focus on.

The amusing part is that the Messiah is never going to deliver all they hope. Nor even get close.

He is not an idiot- nor are his advisers. They know they you can't shut the lid on Pandora's box. You can't undiscover Nuclear fission/fusion, tech black & white people to live in harmony or please the poor.

You see, us on the other side know pain and hard time are coming*. We are ready for it.

Your followers are not!

* Yes, I know I don't friggin' live there, but the actions of the USA impact on all of us. The fucktards of the left actually had that one right!

It's NOT YOUR MONEY!

"The Maori Party is suggesting a $500 tax free payment to pensioners and poverty-stricken families with children to help them get through the Christmas period.

It has costed the payment at $136.5 million, and the party says it would help the economy as well because people would spend it..."

Ain't benevolence fun when it's somebody else's money!

Have you socialist swine figured out that this money would help the economy if it stayed in the hands of those it was taken from- by taxation?

I didn't work 13 hours today down a wet hole full of chemical-laden mud in a friggin' storm to fix a busted water supply so that my frickin' taxes get used to make the shareholders of liquorland richer!

If I gave a flying frigg about 'the poor' I would give to the local food bank.

That bloody $500 is my weeks taxes on my week. Money that I have earned.

Keep your friggin' hands the hell of it!

The next toy

The question is- what one?

Random thoughts

I've been on the scene at a couple of these. One had been dead for a couple of weeks and it ain't nice!

The worrying thing is that I have been into houses of the living that smelled worse...

Watch for the b- word!

BAN!

Yes, it's that time of year again where we celebrate the attempt to blow up Parliament.

An event people relate more and more to as time goes on under successive regimes that continually erode our freedom. I believe that originally they were celebrating the FAILURE of this attempt- how times have changed!

The inevitable morons will commit arson in a consequence-free environment and we will collectively be threatened with the removal of a historical bit of fun.

Watch and see...
