Punishment to fit the crime

Don't ban the paintball guns- give these cretins some jail time!

Two tribes

Interesting here- when calling service providers one detects a serious distain until the second they perceive that you are not lower class- that is, on a benefit.

A simple broken window= The glazier stated that this MUST be a cash job- until he arrived and made an on the spot call that we were not WINZ clients. Of course we paid cash and recieved the usual discount. Can't fault the guy at all!

No surprises here.

This is why NZ'rs have this 'illogical' thing about property ownership...

Not buying into the hype

That was over rather painlessly- without the need to spend more than usual on groceries. For all that, nobody went hungry. The only unusual dish was a bucket of trifle, eaten over the course of three days. That and  Christmas pudding we haven't gotten around to eating yet.
Now it's back to work...

For those who like to bag the USA

The old line of ' Only in America' is a load of arse.

Happened here once...

Still waiting

I seem to have missed the end of the world. Again.

I did think that the dead had risen this afternoon, but it was just Saturday in Pak&save...

There is always a bigger (or uglier) fish

I thought that the Masterton Warehouse just before Christmas was something that could inspire Dante's work.

That was just purgatory.

The Whangarei Warehouse is a trip to a lower circle of the Hot Place. I'm sure I could smell sulfur.

But that could have been one of the ruminant beasts dawdling about like it was time to get on the truck headed to the works.

And what is it with She-mountains and that place. Surely somebody else must stock size XXXXXXXXL stretch pants and cheap chocolate?

Or is the Warehouse actually a cunning plan? MY conspiracy theory for the day is that it is really owned by a consortium of other retail chains and serves the purpose of keeping the unwashed, the morbidly obese and they ill-mannered and destructive spawn elsewhere.

Damn my Scots genes that make me seek the bottom price!

Who needs it?

I just realized that I have not watched a single minute of television in two months now. Don't miss it in the slightest.

Not that I was much for watching it before that. The odd bit of National Geographic or Discovery- usually about science or engineering.

The demon Sky box has long gone and will not be returning, so it should not be hard to be abstinent...

Forgotten a few details from the past?

"...He also quoted Bain at the conclusion of his interview as saying: "The only thing I can reiterate is that these five members of my family were my life. They were part of who I was. We were extremely close. We all loved each other dearly. The last thing that I could possibly have done is to take their lives.
"I find it difficult hurting an animal but to take a person's life, let alone my own family's life, is unimaginable and not only have I served 13 years in prison for doing this, I've also served the so-called sentence of being labelled a convicted killer and a murderer..." (Bold Mine)

So- around the time of the murders- what were you doing with the rifle?

I do recall you had been shooting rabbits.

Anyone else notice the strong smell of BULLSHIT?

Exactly the sort of corruption that is endemic amongst councils.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/christchurch-earthquake/8071131/Foul-called-over-engineer-shouldering-CTV-blame

I worked in construction in Christchurch from 1984- 1987.

Us unwashed plebs often asked 'how can you get the ok to build on shit land like this'- sand or peat swamp that liquified if you look at it.

But no- we were 'unqualified' and council engineers knew best.

Time has shown who was right...

Normal service to resume soon

I will be back in the land of real internet in 10 days, after two months of existing off T-sticks that sometimes work and crappy free wifi.

Most of my data has been used for house-hunting and precious little for leisure.

I'm in a new town, with plenty of new stuff to vent about- or I could just spend the time fishing.

We will see...
