A strange definition of 'Peace'

Hat Tip:  Ronbo posting at Crusader Rabbit

Quran (2:191-193) – “And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief] is worse than killing…
but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)” (Translation is from the Noble Quran) The historical context of this passage is not defensive warfare, since Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by their Meccan adversaries. In fact, the verses urge offensive warfare, in that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city (which they later did). The use of the word “persecution” by some Muslim translators is thus disingenuous (the actual Muslim words for persecution – “idtihad” – and oppression – a variation of “z-l-m” – do not appear in the verse). The actual Arabic comes from “fitna” which can mean disbelief, or the disorder that results from unbelief or temptation. Taken as a whole, the context makes clear that violence is being authorized until “religion is for Allah” – ie. unbelievers desist in their unbelief.
Quran (2:244) – “Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things.”
Quran (2:216) – “Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.” Not only does this verse establish that violence can be virtuous, but it also contradicts the myth that fighting is intended only in self-defense, since the audience was obviously not under attack at the time. From the Hadith, we know that this verse was narrated at a time that Muhammad was actually trying to motivate his people into raiding merchant caravans for loot.
Quran (3:56) – “As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help.”
Quran (3:151) – “Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority”. This speaks directly of polytheists, yet it also includes Christians, since they believe in the Trinity (ie. what Muhammad incorrectly believed to be ‘joining companions to Allah’).
Quran (4:74) – “Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward.” The martyrs of Islam are unlike the early Christians, who were led meekly to the slaughter. These Muslims are killed in battle as they attempt to inflict death and destruction for the cause of Allah. This is the theological basis for today’s suicide bombers.
Quran (4:76) – “Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…”
Quran (4:89) – “They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks.”
Quran (4:95) – “Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-” This passage criticizes “peaceful” Muslims who do not join in the violence, letting them know that they are less worthy in Allah’s eyes. It also demolishes the modern myth that “Jihad” doesn’t mean holy war in the Quran, but rather a spiritual struggle. Not only is the Arabic word used in this passage, but it is clearly not referring to anything spiritual, since the physically disabled are given exemption. (The Hadith reveals the context of the passage to be in response to a blind man’s protest that he is unable to engage in Jihad and this is reflected in other translations of the verse).
Quran (4:104) – “And be not weak hearted in pursuit of the enemy; if you suffer pain, then surely they (too) suffer pain as you suffer pain…” Is pursuing an injured and retreating enemy really an act of self-defense?
Quran (5:33) – “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement”
Quran (8:12) – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them” No reasonable person would interpret this to mean a spiritual struggle.
Quran (8:15) – “O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them. (16)Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless maneuvering for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey’s end.”
Quran (8:39) – “And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder, unbelief) and religion should be only for Allah” Some translations interpret “fitna” as “persecution”, but the traditional understanding of this word is not supported by the historical context (See notes for 2:193). The Meccans were simply refusing Muhammad access to their city during Haj. Other Muslims were allowed to travel there – just not as an armed group, since Muhammad had declared war on Mecca prior to his eviction. The Meccans were also acting in defense of their religion, since it was Muhammad’s intention to destroy their idols and establish Islam by force (which he later did). Hence the critical part of this verse is to fight until “religion is only for Allah”, meaning that the true justification of violence was the unbelief of the opposition. According to the Sira (Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 324) Muhammad further explains that “Allah must have no rivals.”
Quran (8:57) – “If thou comest on them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember.”
Quran (8:67) – “It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war until he had made a great slaughter in the land…”
Quran (8:59-60) – “And let not those who disbelieve suppose that they can outstrip (Allah’s Purpose). Lo! they cannot escape. Make ready for them all thou canst of (armed) force and of horses tethered, that thereby ye may dismay the enemy of Allah and your enemy.”
Quran (8:65) – “O Prophet, exhort the believers to fight…”
Quran (9:5) – “So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them.” According to this verse, the best way of staying safe from Muslim violence is to convert to Islam (prayer (salat) and the poor tax (zakat) are among the religion’s Five Pillars). This popular claim that the Quran only inspires violence within the context of self-defense is seriously challenged by this passage as well, since the Muslims to whom it was written were obviously not under attack. Had they been, then there would have been no waiting period (earlier verses make it a duty for Muslims to fight in self-defense, even during the sacred months). The historical context is Mecca after the idolaters were subjugated by Muhammad and posed no threat. Once the Muslims had the power, they violently evicted those unbelievers who would not convert.
Quran (9:14) – “Fight against them so that Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them and give you victory over them and heal the breasts of a believing people.” Humiliating and hurting non-believers not only has the blessing of Allah, but it is ordered as a means of carrying out his punishment and even “healing” the hearts of Muslims.
Quran (9:20) – “Those who believe, and have left their homes and striven with their wealth and their lives in Allah’s way are of much greater worth in Allah’s sight. These are they who are triumphant.” The Arabic word interpreted as “striving” in this verse is the same root as “Jihad”. The context is obviously holy war.
Quran (9:29) – “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” “People of the Book” refers to Christians and Jews. According to this verse, they are to be violently subjugated, with the sole justification being their religious status. This was one of the final “revelations” from Allah and it set in motion the tenacious military expansion, in which Muhammad’s companions managed to conquer two-thirds of the Christian world in the next 100 years. Islam is intended to dominate all other people and faiths.
Quran (9:30) – “And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!”
Quran (9:38-39) – “O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place.” This is a warning to those who refuse to fight, that they will be punished with Hell.
Quran (9:41) – “Go forth, light-armed and heavy-armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah! That is best for you if ye but knew.” See also the verse that follows (9:42) – “If there had been immediate gain (in sight), and the journey easy, they would (all) without doubt have followed thee, but the distance was long, (and weighed) on them” This contradicts the myth that Muslims are to fight only in self-defense, since the wording implies that battle will be waged a long distance from home (in another country and on Christian soil, in this case, according to the historians).
Quran (9:73) – “O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.” Dehumanizing those who reject Islam, by reminding Muslims that unbelievers are merely firewood for Hell, makes it easier to justify slaughter. It also explains why today’s devout Muslims have little regard for those outside the faith.
Quran (9:88) – “But the Messenger, and those who believe with him, strive and fight with their wealth and their persons: for them are (all) good things: and it is they who will prosper.”
Quran (9:111) – “Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Quran: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.” How does the Quran define a true believer?
Quran (9:123) – “O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness.”
Quran (17:16) – “And when We wish to destroy a town, We send Our commandment to the people of it who lead easy lives, but they transgress therein; thus the word proves true against it, so We destroy it with utter destruction.” Note that the crime is moral transgression, and the punishment is “utter destruction.” (Before ordering the 9/11 attacks, Osama bin Laden first issued Americans an invitation to Islam).
Quran (18:65-81) – This parable lays the theological groundwork for honor killings, in which a family member is murdered because they brought shame to the family, either through apostasy or perceived moral indiscretion. The story (which is not found in any Jewish or Christian source) tells of Moses encountering a man with “special knowledge” who does things which don’t seem to make sense on the surface, but are then justified according to later explanation. One such action is to murder a youth for no apparent reason (74). However, the wise man later explains that it was feared that the boy would “grieve” his parents by “disobedience and ingratitude.” He was killed so that Allah could provide them a ‘better’ son. (Note: This is one reason why honor killing is sanctioned by Sharia. Reliance of the Traveler (Umdat al-Saliq) says that punishment for murder is not applicable when a parent or grandparent kills their offspring (o.1.1-2).)
Quran (21:44) – “We gave the good things of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them; See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will win?”
Quran (25:52) – “Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness…” “Strive against” is Jihad – obviously not in the personal context. It’s also significant to point out that this is a Meccan verse.
Quran (33:60-62) – “If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and the alarmists in the city do not cease, We verily shall urge thee on against them, then they will be your neighbors in it but a little while. Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter.” This passage sanctions the slaughter (rendered “merciless” and “horrible murder” in other translations) against three groups: Hypocrites (Muslims who refuse to “fight in the way of Allah” (3:167) and hence don’t act as Muslims should), those with “diseased hearts” (which include Jews and Christians 5:51-52), and “alarmists” or “agitators who include those who merely speak out against Islam, according to Muhammad’s biographers. It is worth noting that the victims are to be sought out by Muslims, which is what today’s terrorists do. If this passage is meant merely to apply to the city of Medina, then it is unclear why it is included in Allah’s eternal word to Muslim generations.
Quran (47:3-4) – “Those who disbelieve follow falsehood, while those who believe follow the truth from their Lord… So, when you meet (in fight Jihad in Allah’s Cause), those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, i.e. take them as captives)… If it had been Allah’s Will, He Himself could certainly have punished them (without you). But (He lets you fight), in order to test you, some with others. But those who are killed in the Way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost.” Those who reject Allah are to be killed in Jihad. The wounded are to be held captive for ransom. The only reason Allah doesn’t do the dirty work himself is to to test the faithfulness of Muslims. Those who kill pass the test.
Quran (47:35) – “Be not weary and faint-hearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost (Shakir: “have the upper hand”) for Allah is with you,”
Quran (48:17) – “There is no blame for the blind, nor is there blame for the lame, nor is there blame for the sick (that they go not forth to war). And whoso obeyeth Allah and His messenger, He will make him enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; and whoso turneth back, him will He punish with a painful doom.” Contemporary apologists sometimes claim that Jihad means ‘spiritual struggle.’ Is so, then why are the blind, lame and sick exempted? This verse also says that those who do not fight will suffer torment in hell.
Quran (48:29) – “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves” Islam is not about treating everyone equally. There are two very distinct standards that are applied based on religious status. Also the word used for ‘hard’ or ‘ruthless’ in this verse shares the same root as the word translated as ‘painful’ or severe’ in verse 16.
Quran (61:4) – “Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way” Religion of Peace, indeed! The verse explicitly refers to “battle array” meaning that it is speaking of physical conflict. This is followed by (61:9): “He it is who has sent His Messenger (Mohammed) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam) to make it victorious over all religions even though the infidels may resist.” (See next verse, below). Infidels who resist Islamic rule are to be fought.
Quran (61:10-12) – “O You who believe! Shall I guide you to a commerce that will save you from a painful torment. That you believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ), and that you strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives, that will be better for you, if you but know! (If you do so) He will forgive you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow, and pleasant dwelling in Gardens of ‘Adn – Eternity [‘Adn (Edn) Paradise], that is indeed the great success.” This verse refers to physical battle in order to make Islam victorious over other religions (see above). It uses the Arabic word, Jihad.
Quran (66:9) – “O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey’s end.” The root word of “Jihad” is used again here. The context is clearly holy war, and the scope of violence is broadened to include “hypocrites” – those who call themselves Muslims but do not act as such.

"...A video shows the 30kW laser cannon being operated by a hand-held controller not dissimilar to that found on an X-Box or PlayStation gaming console.
It shows the laser cannon targeting and blowing up remote control boats and airborne drones with an invisible light beam.
The cannon took the US Navy the best part of 10 years to develop at a cost of close to US$40 million..."

Eagerly awaiting news of its first operational use. Some of the other video taken during trial looked impressive- burning the outboard motor off an IRB. I guess something made to track a missile should have no trouble popping somali heads!

I'm being punished

Instead of removing the WIG from your ugly bald head, they SHOULD have removed your ugly bald head from your shoulders with an axe.

Or at least stretched the neck that holds your ugly bald head from the rest of your festering carcass, by six inches or so.

That is punishment, you KF sack of vulture droppings,

Real Heroism

"A 93-year-old woman living quietly in an Auckland rest home has been revealed as one of the bravest spies of World War Two.
On Tuesday Phyllis Latour Doyle – Pippa to her friends - will be bestowed with France's highest decoration for what she did 70 years ago.
And for the English born woman, the honour is also bringing out her largely unknown story.
The Telegraph in Britain reports today that she has remained in the shadows; "a reluctant heroine with an astonishing past"..."
It's only now these amazing tales are coming to light. Doesn't it make the so-called exploits of the current day hero's- usually an overpaid sportsman- seem totally pathetic.

Too late

The Christchurch City Council's draft 2014 Parks and Reserves Bylaw was going to include a provision for ashes to be interred if written approval was sought from the council but it is now being reconsidered because it could be culturally offensive.
Mahaanui Kurataiao Ltd (MKT), a company that acts on behalf of the six runanga within Christchurch city, has told the council that if it enables the scattering of ashes in public places, it will alienate Ngai Tahu whanau from those public parks and reserve spaces.
It has cautioned that even if the scattering of ashes occurs on a limited or restricted basis Ngai Tahu whanau will be indefinitely bound in those parks and reserves by the same kawa (protocols) that apply in designated urupa (cemetery). That means they will be unable to eat, laugh, run or play in those areas.
MKT has asked the council to amend the bylaw to prohibit the burial or scattering of ashes of any deceased person or animal in any public park or reserve..."
( Bold mine)
Looks like it is too late. Ashes have already been scattered, so now they have to stay out of these places. You can't undo what has been done or can this, like most things- be sorted by appeasing the superstitious with money.

"Convicted murderer and paedophile Phillip Smith had a "rough" experience in Brazil's Ary Franco prison.
Through his lawyer, Tony Ellis, Smith has released a statement today saying he is physically okay and had seen a "reasonable improvement in conditions" since being moved to Bandeira Stampa prison..."

Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it? That is how a victim feels.
May you experience a lot of it in in your hopefully short life in a Brazillian nick.

That religion of Peace- again

Police have arrested four Islamic terror suspects who were allegedly been planning to stab the 88-year-old monarch to death at the Royal Albert Hall, The Sun reported..."
Well, how is the great social experiment working for you now?
Maybe THIS will shake up the great apathy that is killing the UK and gain more support for the up and coming political organizations who want to stop importing rabid dogs.
Even the IRA knew this would be a step too far...

Lie down with dogs...

"The high point was an afternoon seven weeks ago when he was assigned to accompany President Barack Obama, who was visiting the agency's headquarters here for a briefing on the Ebola epidemic.
It was not only that his bosses had entrusted him with staying close to such an important dignitary. It was that, as an African-American born in Chicago, he was going to meet the nation's first black president, a man he deeply admired.
But by the time Obama's visit was over, Tate was on the way to losing his job..."
Serves him right! Fucker like him created the Beast!

I hate Halloween

Bands of vultures out roaming the streets looking for free stuff, getting them accustomed to a lifetime of holding out their hands for alms.

All year responsible parents warn their kids about strangers offering sweets and on one night parents go mental and encourage their kids to do the opposite.

Although I did like the idea of giving out toffee onions...

C- More effort needed next time

The Avondale Islamic Centre in West Auckland, which has been the centre of extremist teaching allegations, was set alight about 2.40am yesterday.
Fire investigators have assessed the scene of the blaze and confirmed the fire was deliberately lit, a spokesman said this morning..."

*Brain cells not included

"Maritime police have rescued five university students, thought to have been drinking, from Wellington's Island Bay after they got in to trouble on toy inflatables and were swept out to sea in gale-force winds.
Just after 2pm Maritime Police Sergeant Andy Cox said four of the group of university students, none of whom were wearing life jackets or had paddles, made it to Island Bay's island.
The fifth tipped out and was stranded struggling in the water before being rescued by Constable Tom McBride, a member of the police national dive squad, who swam him to shore..."
Yet again it is proven that intelligence is not required to attend university...

Would you be happy with Pit Bulls running loose on our streets?

"The man behind the Ottawa shootings is a Canadian convert to Islam whose passport had been seized by authorities, federal sources say.
While police have not confirmed the man's identity, sources have told Canada's Globe And Mail, Reuters and Associated Press that the main suspect was Michael Zehaf-Bibeau.
Just before 10am on Wednesday local time (3am Thursday New Zealand time), a gunman shot and killed Corporal Nathan Cirillo and then opened fire on the country's Parliament buildings..."
Time to stop the politically correct farce of letting muslims into NZ (and the rest of the civilized world, for that matter). For those who say that these actions are just a radical few, I say that muslims are like Pit Bulls- you never know when they are going to turn on you. All dogs bite, but some are more likely to latch on and not let go.
As for stopping these savages wanting to go overseas to fight- let them go. JUST DON'T EVER LET THEM BACK.

More dairy produce madness

But on a positive note:
Since the chocolate milk went on sale three weeks ago, demand has been so great that customers are queuing up for fresh deliveries, purchase limits have been put in place at supermarkets, and security guards are being employed to watch over fridges containing the chocolate gold..."
That is the aim of any producer- a product that customers won't leave on the shelves.
If it's as good as it sounds, the Health Nazis will no doubt be finding something wrong with it...

Blessed are the Cheesemakers

"A grandmother who hand-milks four cows has taken on the world's best cheesemakers and won - but she's facing defeat at the hands of Ministry for Primary Industries food safety officers.
Biddy Fraser-Davies' boutique Cwmglyn Farmhouse Cheese, from Eketahuna, has won a silver medal at the World Cheese Awards, been served up at Prince George's Government House playdate, and is on the menu at top Wellington restaurants Logan Brown, The White House and Shed 5.
Tourists flock to her 4.4-hectare farm 20 minutes north of Masterton to enjoy a unique, gate-to-plate culinary and farming experience. Each of her cheeses bears the name of the jersey cow whose milk was used to make it.
And folks wonder why people don't stick their necks out and open a small business.
Because the asshole in grey shoes, with all the power and resources of the state, will grind down anyone who dares to work outside of the corporate or the state apparatus itself.
They hate the independent trader, the small businessman, the artisan- because they make work for them. It would be so much more convenient to regulate a few large providers. Could it be (and let's say it softly)- that the big boys are better placed to 'provide the right incentives to the inspectorate'?

The right place for this

"Wellington Hospital has adopted a novel treatment for a severe diarrhoea-causing bacterium, by using faeces donated by a friend or family member inserted into the bowels to calm the patient's innards and replace missing healthy bugs.
The remedy is already gaining growing credibility overseas as an effective drug-free treatment for Clostridium difficile, which kills thousands of people every year and has spread exponentially in the past decade..."
Well, they certainly have picked a town in which there should be no shortage of donors. There is a big round building where everyone is certainly full of it...

Do it

Why it has been directed only at Maori I have no idea, as thousands of non-Maori people are in the same predicament. Then again, perhaps the Maori housing problem would be the easiest to resolve.
Today's part-Maori have been given millions of acres of land as well as more than two billion dollars in cash settlements for treaty disputes - on top of that "Maoridom" has assets of almost $40 billion…"
I say- build a town ONLY for Maori. Let's then see how it fares. Build it up in Northland. Plenty of empty space here. Give them what they want. Move all the state housing clientele there.
Hell, turn it into a reality TV show!
I'm sure that the liberal appeasers would get a nasty dent on their denial...

Looks like the unprincipled sheeple of NZ have decided how much socialism they want for another three years.

It could have been worse.

At least Winston don't get to call the shots and that Kraut crook and company have been shown the door.

Could it be that FINALLY the masses are learning not to believe what you see on tv?

Middle class, my arse.

"Schoolteacher Jennifer Gregg struggles to support her family on a salary of $90,000, paying over-the-odds Auckland rents while her husband Patrick stays home to look after their seriously ill daughter. Their household income is above the New Zealand average but the couple's outgoings leave them with no savings for a deposit to buy their own home…"

Try talking to families on the $60k mark. They would be more typical of the 'middle class'. That's what a skilled tradesman is getting in wages.

Also, a pet peeve of mine is the continually going on about the Middle Class, when they NEVER use the terms Upper or Lower classes. Can't have a middle without these!

How the hell did this ever get to court?

"A police woman has been found guilty of racially abusing a taxi driver during a late-night fare dispute in Queenstown.
Constable Jeanette May McNee, 44, known as Jenny, appeared for the second day of a judge-alone trial in Queenstown District Court today…"
PC gone mad!
She told him to feck off back to curry-land. (or suchlike) BIG DEAL.
In a grown up world, he would have replied in the manner of- 'well get out of the cab & walk and don't expect anyone else to pick you up'
But it's not a grown up world when this storm in a very small teacup winds up in court and the judge doesn't throw it out immediately.

The REAL reason

The local 'News' has been flooded with pseudo stories about Whaleoil and Cameron Slater. ALL in the negative.

What is that REALLY about?

Simple. They are pissed and trying for payback, as someone outside their card-carrying ranks has been used as the government's catspaw.

All the juicy tidbits they would normally have dropped in their laps have gone elsewhere.

To somebody NOT in their union.

THAT is the reason this story stays on the front page. The peter-puffers of the MSM are royally pissed about not getting the good stuff first.

And WE pay for this shit!

"Maraea Manu Gage, 24, failed to appear for sentencing in Whangarei District Court for the second time yesterday, forcing Judge Duncan Harvey to issue another warrant - after showing his displeasure at the state of affairs.

The 6-year-old cradled her younger sister, watching a computer on which music was being played, and there was no food or heating in the dark, dirty house, lit only by the computer screen's glow…"
FFS- rip her goddamn uterus out with a frickin' boathook!
This evil slag- and there are so many like her in this town and throughout NZ- have absolutely no right to raise anything higher up the food chain than the fungus between her toes.
The kids she has spawned would be better off in a Victorian era orphanage!

More lollypops

"National has announced an up to $20,000 kick-start for low and middle income couples who build a new home.
Speaking to a 2500 strong crowd at National's campaign launch in Auckland today, leader John Key said the new package would help about 90,000 first home buyers over the next five years…"

Do first time home buyers EVER buy/build  a new house?
In my experience, they buy a house in need of work. Lots of work!
Because if the haven't just won lotto- that is all they can afford.

Or are we talking about one of these. (not that I would mind one)

And yet they are kept defenseless

"A 33-year-old woman kidnapped at knifepoint in Whangarei has emerged from her ordeal shaken but unhurt.
She was parked in the Laurie Hall car park in the central city about 8.30am when a man threatened her with a knife, police said.
He forced her to drive to Mair Park, then to the ASB bank on Kensington Avenue, and the car park on Quay Street in the town basin…"
This is the later of a spate hijackings- the previous were beaten off. Yet, do the powers that be have anything to say about realistic self- defense?
Of course not.
Nice compliant sheep have no need to carry pistols, Mace or tasters. No indeed! somebody might get hurt!

I kind of thought that was the idea…

modern goddamn times

Apparently it is not polite to refer to the birth of a girl-child as a 'dud' or 'blind'. Must be an army thing.

Also, the act is not 'calving'

Why we have stereotypes

"Two friends who defaced National party hoardings stood in court together as they pleaded guilty to wilful damage charges…"

Yep, exactly what you would expect. We have stereotypes and profiles because so very often they fit.

Talk is cheap

"Labour is promising 1.7 million people - 40 per cent of the population - will be eligible for free doctors visits and prescriptions under a Labour-led government…"

It's easy to promise stuff when you know you won't have to deliver. The greens are even worse at this than liarbour. Anyone with a modicum of grey matter knows that there is either no chance of it happening or taxes go up for the few of us working.

I do a bit of it when kids ask if they can have an 80" inch TV or a playstation 4. My answer is-"yes- when I win Lotto". Difference is that I would deliver- and without robbing someone else to pay for it.

Some good stuff happens here too

"A team of researchers from Canterbury University have broken a world rocket altitude record near Tekapo in South Canterbury.
A launch team of five people watched as the rocket, nicknamed "Milly", broke the world I-class rocket altitude record on July 26.
The rocket hit speeds of over 2000 kilometres per hour and attained a recorded height of 4,889 metres, well above previous record holder John Wilke's 4324.5m…"

Drop and give me 50

"Being made to do 90 minutes of exercise during school time would put more pressure on NCEA students, says year 12 student Cameron Bishop.
"I mean it would be nice because it would be time away from study but it would be time we could be doing study to get better grades…"
You whiney little candy-arsed twinkle-toed peter-puffer!
At Army Schools, every day started with a PT session that would make you DIE!
After that, you really appreciate keeping your fat chunk on a chair for the rest of the day.
Put cement in your wheaties and harden the fuck up!

Oh- really?

"A Government working party investigating the logistics of online voting has found it could be feasible by 2016.
In a report released today, the group said online voting should not replace the postal ballot, but should work alongside existing forms of voting.
"Having considered international experiences, the local government electoral system and technological and security challenges associated with enabling voting online, we consider that online voting is feasible and desirable," the report said…"
It has been feasible for many years. Online voting is far simpler than lotto, which has been around here for 27 years and has to have a far higher level of security. Any consultant who says online voting is anything other than dead easy is a fraud and/or an idiot.
But then, they usually are...

There IS a better idea

"Reader V Francis writes in with a proposal for a record-breaking tourist attraction in Northland:
The impression I have is that the people of Whangarei would like to have something to draw tourists to Whangarei…"
Nice, but what we really need is more policing to keep the thieving bloody natives out of tourists (and locals) vehicles. The summer car park volunteers do a fantastic job- the program needs expanding and a bit more funding would go a long way. We are getting in the habit of carrying a few gold coins to give them a donation- it's well worth it to know your car will still be there and not ransacked after a trip to the beach.

Yet again

"A family pet that left little Shephard Mea fighting for his life used to roam the street terrorising neighbours and had been aggressive towards the child before yesterday's attack.
The incident happened at a Housing New Zealand property, and Housing Minister Nick Smith told the Sunday Star-Times last night officials would launch an inquiry as dogs were not routinely allowed at HNZ homes…."
If I left a loaded shotgun about the house and one of my children pulled the trigger with fatal results, I would (rightly) be headed for jail.
A side issue is that poor people so often seem to afford to keep big hungry dogs...

Take OUR towns back

"...They knew they lived in a beautiful place - they only had to ask the ship-loads of tourists that invade every summer - but they also knew their town was tatty, with grim public toilets and a waterfront occupied by parked cars and asphalt. It was a long way from living up to its potential.
Then a few townsfolk hatched a plan. They surveyed, questioned and schemed until they had a pretty good idea of what their fellow Paihians wanted.
They drew up plans and made demands, but found there was little the council could or would do in belt-tightened times.
That's where the Australian, an urban design guru named David Engwicht, came in.
He showed them you don't need councils, ratepayer cash or consents.
Focus Paihia was already a community trust by then; from it sprang the Paihia Phantom Placemakers. With little notice and less permission they would descend on public spaces like an army of guerilla decorators, beautifying footpaths, the Village Green and Maiki Hill.
Emboldened by success they took sledgehammers to the town's biggest embarrassment, the Marsden Rd public toilets, described by a well-travelled graffiti artist as the worst in New Zealand, and turned it into a functional work of art.
But those projects pale next to the creation of a waterfront park on what used to be an ugly parking lot…"
Of course you can do it better, cheaper and faster than a bunch of regulations obsessed pen-pushers. This is what we need to see- people taking charge of their own lives. To hell with the busybodies that have to put a damper on all things good!

What were you thinking?

another idiotic PC ninny

…who should have stuck to whacking a ball about the court and stayed out of grown-up area…

"...As politicians seek the limelight in the run-up to the general election, Race Relations Commissioner Dame Susan Devoy has hit out at ACT attacks on Maori...
...She labelled comments by ACT leader Jamie Whyte that Maori enjoyed legal privilege "grotesque and inflammatory"…"
So what is the fuss about?
The ACT leader has DARED to state that one of ACT's core principles had always been that the law should be colour blind and should treat everybody equally.
Anyone who's brain has not been addled by socialist 'thinking' should see the fairness in that!.
If their brain has been turned into a rancid protein slushy, then its 'Racist and Redneck'!

While I'm on the redneck bit- the turn was used by those who perceived the lowly field hand with his sunburn neck from toiling outdoors was their social inferior. No wonder the left like to use the term. They have the same distain for the ordinary working NZ'r...

Can't find a REAL job, huh?

"Former Carterton mayor Georgina Beyer will stand for the Mana Party in Te Tai Tonga, saying she was doing so partly to atone for voting for the Foreshore and Seabed Act in 2004…"

How fitting- a worthless MP (once described by I MP I know as: 'the laziest MP in parliament'), for a worthless party.

MSM saying what needed to be said for once

Culture of Idiocy costs lives.

"Road crashes happen. There is news reporting, processing of photographs, and getting comment. And then afterwards, there's the reflection on how much mess one person can cause on our roads. I can't even begin to guess what Cheyenne Ihaka's life was about, and his family won't thank me for attempting to analyse what he amounted to, or criticising him in this editorial…"
Couldn't have said it better myself (well- I could have but it wouldn't have been printed)

'Yeah, right' #257854

"Commissioners at the Kaipara District Council are seeking legal advice to decide whether people or organisations responsible for the $80 million blowout of the Mangawhai wastewater treatment plant can be held accountable…"
Fat chance of any council being held accountable for anything less than- wait- scratch the last four words.

There is more accountability and transparency in central government than of the local satraps. Do the elected officials even declare their political alliances?- mostly not.

As in central government, the ones to really watch out for are the top echelons of unelected departmental management. But I suspect those in local government find it easier to blinker the generally much greener local body elected types.

Watch the Kaipara case and we will see how effectivly central government oversees the local tyrants...

It's looking real bad for the ants...

Stupid social media crazes

The latest idiocy is to have a bucket of iced water poured over you- and then challenge some other idiots to do it to themselves.

I just go to work to get freezing cold water down my neck. It's called fixing a broken pipe. Nothing to see here folks...

Yep, Northland...

"A woman waiting in a car while her husband paid for petrol at a central Whangarei service station had to fight off a man who got in the driver's seat and tried to drive away.
The attempted carjacking, at BP Wylies, on Maunu Rd, about 2pm on Monday, has left the 32-year-old shaken and questioning her positive impression of Whangarei. She also issued a warning for people to lock their cars at petrol stations even if there was someone in it - a warning echoed by police…."
Always have a screwdriver handy in your car. Nobody asks questions about a screwdriver. Unlike a bayonet.
Still, whatever the tool- they do not like it up 'em!
