A close call!

"An elderly Chinese woman who died after being assaulted in her home may have put up a struggle and scratched her attacker, police say.

Detective Inspector Mark Gutry said Yin Ping Yang, 80, had tried to get to the phone before succumbing to the June 9 attack.

"It appears she may have at some stage put up as much of a struggle as she could. Which at her age wasn't much. He [her attacker] may have been scratched or injured in the assault..."

Link:

Just as well she didn't have a pistol- she might have hurt the poor misunderstood attacker! We can't have that sort of thing happening in New Zealand!

Tooling up

This bloke has made the classic mistake- going public. If he does deal to some well deserving scumbag, the crown prosecution office will now be all over his arse!

Rule One: Don't tell anyone. You loose much of the deterrent value, but in NZ that's the way to go.

Rule Two: Don't use a restricted weapon like a pistol, petrol bomb, hand grenade or the MP-40 granddad brought back from his North African adventures. Greg Carvell would confirm this!

Rule Three: Use something that has a reason to be there. A cleaver may be OK in a butchery, but probably not in a dairy. Neither would be an axe, crowbar or baseball bat.

Rule Four: Don't modify it. The baseball bat with six-inch nails in the end won't look good in court.

So- let's look at the linked case- you are in a dairy and Mr Scrote wants free cigarettes and all your money. He doesn't have a firearm (the only real defense here is another gun and the training to use it effectively)

What do you have in the store that could conveniently be held to hand? lets see- a pot of pepper- throw that in the face and Mr Scrote is going to be out of the game. You will at this stage be able to escape or damage his self-esteem further- say by hitting him with something large and heavy.

Another overlooked defensive tool is the dry powder fire extinguisher. This will blind him and choke him- plus has the advantage of being able to do so from several meters away. When empty, the cylinder makes a useful bludgeon!

It will also put out fires, so is a useful tool to have at home and in the car, if you take my suggestion...

So?

"Finally, an apology from Lipine Sila for the deaths and carnage he caused along Christchurch's Edgeware Road, and an offer to meet his victims face-to-face as he begins his life sentence..."

SO- should that get him a few years off? NO-he should have got twice that sentence- and some- 17 years for each murder and seven years for each injury. Let's just call that life meaning life. One of the victims certainly thought so!

"...Family members told how much they missed the two girls, Jane Young and Hannah Rossiter, and the court heard how Sila's actions had damaged bodies and broken up families.

Outside the court, Mr Young said the sentence was "woefully inadequate" and he hoped Sila would get over 20 years. "I think it should be life meaning life, but the judicial system is very much biased against law and order..."

You got that straight, but then Mr Young knows that in a way few of us ever (hopefully) will!

What colour is the sky on YOUR planet?

"...in the Porirua case there were gang affiliations with the family and Dr Kiro called on the gang leaders to take an active role in condemning child abuse.

"I think there really is a role for gang leaders to step up and say they won't tolerate this kind of behavior in their ranks, and for other members to challenge it when they see it..."

Well spank my ass and call me Charlie! the answer was so bloody simple it totally escaped me!

Ask gang leaders to stop bad behavior- at the same time she could ask them to speak out against crime, selling drugs and being total oxygen-thieves!

Does this taxpayer funded WOFTAM actually ever venture out into the real world?

I think not!

Nowt as strange as folk!

"...A stunned mother, who didn't even know she was pregnant, took her premature new born baby to Buller Hospital in a bucket on Friday night. It is understood the 34-year-old had not realised she was pregnant until she went to the toilet. She arrived at the hospital with the baby and its placenta in a plastic bucket..."

Link:

Why is it I have trouble believing that somebody doesn't know they are pregnant?

OK- so that happens from time to time. We can't all be rocket scientists- or even be vaugely aware that something is different with our internal workings.

But to put the baby in a bucket!!!

The shortest day

Not when its' pouring and the kids are to murder each other!

Solution- a new pair of headphones- ones big enough to totally cover the ears- not these weenie ipod sort of ones that hurt my ears anyway!

Then afterwards, a retreat to my man-cave to tidy the reloading bench and do a stocktake of components.

Time to stock up and load another couple of thousand for the dry season. In the winter I shoot black powder, so I don't have to look for lost cases in the mud. And I don't start fires at this time of year!

SIxteen years is a start

"...On June 25, 1992, Ratima, then aged 25, went on a murderous rampage in Masterton, killing his sister-in-law Nicola Ferguson, Bevan Tepu, their child Stephen, Nicola's brother Phillip Ferguson junior, and his own children Piripi, Barney and Stacey.

He also killed an unborn child, deliberately stabbing the 36-week-old foetus through the abdominal wall of his mother..."

Sixteen years- that's a start.

A start- that's all.

You have a long term to serve yet, you piece of shit!

You shouldn't be even appearing before the parole board for another fifty years.

What you should have had is a long drop on a short rope!

Thursday, June 19, 2008

Well!- that's the end of THAT problem then!

"A bill that gets tough with taggers has been passed by Parliament with an overwhelming majority..."

A new law- that should stop the problem!

It's a start, but I wouldn't call it 'Tough'

Tough is a full reparations followed by a day in the stocks in the middle of town, after a sound flogging!- Before starting a shortish prison term at hard labour!

Too tough for some soft-cocks though:

"...The Greens and the Maori Party opposed the bill..."

Property rights are no great priorities for these numpties!

The 'C' word again!

Compulsory!

Here is yet another election year bit of grandstanding:

"...The Government is seeking views on whether third party vehicle insurance should be compulsory..."

Like most of their ideas, this too would prove a rotten fizzer.

Why?

Because many people won't register or warrant their cars- these being compulsory NOW! -what chance they would insure them?

If the 3rd party is built into the rego- they simply won't have either! You don't need a degree in rocket science to figure that one out.

You just have to be smarter than a Lairbour politician or a slime mould...

Slime and punishment

It has been said recently that prison is no deterrent, prison IS a deterrent and others say it is too harsh- while others that it is too soft. Truth is- all of these statements are true.

Prison is no deterrent to the recidivist offender, who merely regards it as a part of life, an inconvenience suffered when caught.

Prison is a deterrent to many- thus they don't wind up going there, so they avoid the behaviors that send you inside. This is a hard one to quantify, for obvious reasons!

Prison is very harsh to a person who has lead an otherwise good life and through circumstances finds them self on the wrong side of the law. They have committed the sort of crime that you could say 'there but for the grace of God, goes I!' I have heard the stories of several like this and they do their time very hard indeed.

Prison is a walk in the park to a lowlife who has lived rough and never made any effort to move up from the bottom. They get fed, clothed, have a warm bed and get free medical attention.

My idea for prison reform are that minor and first time offenders get a short sharp shock- a relatively short sentence in a minimum type security, with hard work and spartan conditions. This is a taste of things to come.

The price goes up for each offense.

After several offenses- depending on the seriousness of the convictions, the courts with rule as to whether the individual is a confirmed recidivist. if they are, it's off to the Gulag with them.

Here they spend the rest of their days earning their potatoes & cabbage sorting the garbage of the country into recyclables.

An important factor in prison reform is that prisons should NOT be used as de facto mental institutions- as they are now. These people need treatment not punishment, although some are too dangerous to ever be allowed out, so its a specialist prison for the mentally insane needed there.

Another fact we must no forget- the role of prison is primarily to KEEP THE PUBLIC SAFE. This is done by locking criminals away from the public. Rehabilitation (yeah, right) is a side issue and the guts of the matter is that it is of a 'take a horse to water' nature.

Whats next on the 'Forbidden' list?

Incandescent light bulbs have made the list. Are beer fridges next?

Will all our household appliances need an annual Warrant of Fitness?

I reckon aerosol spray cans are next!

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Law and Order

Police, Guns and Tasers

"The police volunteer to do some unpleasant work in our community, and I applaud them for that. Yet in order to have our support, they should be prepared to justify their actions," said Peter Linton, Libertarianz Firearms Spokesman, today. "That's why Libertarianz supports Marie Dyhrberg's call for extra detail to be released on the police trial regarding tasers."

"While it is not necessary to release the names of individual officers and participants, it is important for the public to view the raw data collected from these trials to see how the police reached their conclusions," says Linton. "Openness from the police will go some way to repairing their reputation, which has been tarnished lately by some wayward officers."

"We must question however, why the police want the taxpayer to fund yet another form of self-defense when they already have access to batons, pepper-spray, martial arts maneuvers and, when necessary, firearms," Linton says. "If tasers are indeed necessary for police to defend themselves with, then they should also be made available to ordinary New Zealanders for this same purpose."

"After all, a police officer's life is just as valuable as the life of any other decent New Zealander. There should be one law that applies to everyone, not just the police." * (the bold type is my addition-OB)

Further discussion on tasers will screen on TV One's Eye To Eye show, 11-30 am Sunday 8 June, 2008 (now available here:)

The Devil's Advocate

Now much has been said on the cost of fuel. The fact that it is grossly overtaxed is still relevant, as is the speed at which the price rises up- faster than a ballistic missile.

However, I cast my mind back some years to 1982- I clearly recall petrol going into my motorcycle at $0.99/litre.

Back then, beer was about $7 swappa crate- cans & stubbies were a rare andexpensive novelty. A decent bottle of wine could be had for under $3-4 and I was on about $14k/year! $20k was the big money!

If petrol had followed at the same rate as drink, it would now be well over $3/litre.

Petrol is still relatively cheap. The problem has been the speed at which the price has risen.

If it has climbed at the same rate as everything else, nobody would bat an eyelid.

And the price hikes have by no means finished!

Quarantine Time

For South Auckland:

"...Operation Safer Counties-Manukau was run on Friday and Saturday nights with checkpoints on several major roads, including the southern motorway.

Ms Wells said 13,356 vehicles were stopped and drivers breath tested.

Of those, 274 returned positive results and would face prosecution in the next two weeks.

A further 34 drivers had blood samples taken and were awaiting results..."

Following on from this story:

"Police want armed patrols on Auckland's streets 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"Armed response vehicles" would be manned by firearms specialists and provide a quick response to call-outs like last week's shooting of Manurewa liquor store owner Navtej Singh..."

How much more evidence do we need that this area- or large parts of it- are out of control.

Its time for to shut this hell-hole down at night and put curfews in place! It needs the treatment that New York got.

Zero tolerance for scumbags.

The area is locked down, with the assistance of the military, if needed. Anyone out after curfew is arrested. Anyone resisting arrest can expect to be tasered, chewed on by a German Shepherd or shot. Mobs will be dispersed with teargas, water cannon and active denial weapons.

And before the hand-wringers start crying 'Ghetto'- it already is...

Oh goody- a new law!

Yes, another totally unnecessary law is on the way.

The using of cellphones while driving. Apparently, there have been several crashes caused by people using these fiendish devices.

I have no doubt that this is true. While in many circumstances it is perfectly safe to take a call, we must be governed- yet again- by the bottom denominator.

But, I ask, why the law?- when we already have the charge of careless driving!

It's called 'Grandstanding'

Those addicted to the habit of texting are as likely to give it up as a teenage boy is to swear off wanking!

Driving or not.

Savings- from what?

There seems to be a perception that we all drive about to amuse ourselves, while the lights and heaters burn in our empty homes.

News flash- most of us have been well aware of energy usage and cost long before the greens crawled out from under their rock.

Not wasting was programmed into me from day one- power, food or anything that cost money. This has been the reality for most of us. We don't need millions of our dollars spent telling us to turn off the lights when leaving a room!

It's the same with using the car. A hell of a lot of folk only use it when they actually need to. I don't know anyone who just sits in it with the engine running, to enjoy the air conditioning!
The slack was taken up when fuel crossed the $1/liter mark- if not before.

So- where do the savings come from? To many the cost isn't an issue and they will use whatever they please. Good on them!

Others like myself already have that Scots trait of not wasting anything (allowing more money for real essentials, such as Whiskey!)

Well- that leaves it to the hand-wringers will must don the hair shirt and shiver for mother earth. Lefties and tree-huggers- turn off your computers for me!

For good!

Let's light up!

Having fiddled while our generation capacity failed to keep up with demand- courtesy of the RMA and in the name of greenie appeasement- our masters want us to use less electricity.

I SAY- turn on the drier, the air conditioner and all the thermostats, then take a long, hot shower. Cook roasts and burn toast. Get the old electric heaters out of the garage and plug them in. Lets push the electricity network beyond it's capacity!

I'M SURE you are all resilient enough to survive a few power outages and that the minor inconveniences will be worth the embarrassment caused just before the upcoming election.

The polls may look good, but there is nothing wrong in wanting a better margin...

TANSTAAFL

"Greytown residents watched in disbelief yesterday as they were handed free bags containing literature, apple juice, moisturiser, energy saving light bulbs and dishwashing liquid. The bags, which are made from recycled billboards, were distributed as the first part of the Greater Wellington Regional Council Greentown initiative, touted as a "month of sustainable living" for the town....

..."A lot of people couldn't believe that we were handing something out for free because you don't get anything for free these days," community environment projects co ordinator Robyn Smith said..."

Idiot- that stuff ain't 'FREE'- it's paid for by GWRC rates- taken from RATEPAYERS!

Which is typical greenie bullshit- somebody else picking up the tab for their choices...

Paid a visit to Crusader Rabbit and Gecko today.

It's always good to visit other members of the VRWC!

A damn nice spot, with lots of elbow room.

Just what the powers that be hate us to have...

Gun Control

How many more?

"Police are hunting two men who left a Auckland liquor store owner in a critical condition in hospital after he was shot during a robbery.

Police said the armed men entered the store in Manukau last night and shot the owner before taking money and alcohol and then fleeing.

One of the offenders is described as Maori and dressed in predominantly black clothing..."

Police have narrowed the search down to one of 47,893 suspects.

But you can't have any possible reason for owning one of those nasty Tasers or a can of Mace now- much less an actual firearm. That might mean you are thinking of defending yourself and we can't have that.

What if other people started thinking that they could fend for themselves! Outrageous!

Better a hundred citizens killed than one alleged robber!

Nothing to see here- move along

Three out of four junior doctors are still working in New Zealand five years after graduating, a Dominion Post investigation has found.

Well, that's OK then - we are only losing 25% of the doctors trained in NZ!

it's a damned shame we don't lose 25% of our morally bankrupt politicians every five years...

When the pendulum swings

I have been following a lot of the insanity coming from the UK. That is indeed a country that is in a downward spiral. The police ignore serious crime, while persecuting people for such heinous acts as having a English flag in the pack of your car! Firearms are banned- for the law-abiding- the rest have no difficulty finding them. Thousands are on the dole, yet hardworking Poles have no problem with finding employment.

Freedom of speech is in such a poor state- indeed- all personal freedoms, I really wonder if they would have been better off siding with Hitler before WW2!

But the Brits have a thing for bouncing back when all seems hopeless- one day the pendulum will indeed swing for England. It won't be pretty when it does...

Get a friggin' grip!

"A Wellington community police constable has come under fire for making graffiti offenders wear a pink vest while painting over their tags.

Constable Theo Gommans said the vests, emblazoned with the word "tagger", would make the offenders think about the consequences of their actions.

He had already seen a reduction in tagging offences since he began touring schools with the pink vest, he told Radio New Zealand.

However, Wellington City Councillor Iona Pannett wants the pink vests banned.

She likened them to techniques used in Nazi Germany, where pink triangle badges were used to identify homosexuals in concentration camps."

What colour is the friggin' sky on YOUR planet? ANYONE working outside has to wear dayglo now. Take a look around you. I would prefer 'Tagger' to be branded on their foreheads!

This policeman deserves an award and promotion!

The councillor WOFTAM needs a size 12 up the arse. Her reality check just bounced...

Here is a blog with something for everybody!

Here:

A sample of their material:

St. Peter is at the Pearly Gates checking up on the people waiting to enter Heaven.

He asks the next one in line, 'So, who are you, and what did you do on Earth?'

The fellow says, 'I'm Barack Hussein Obama, and I was the first black to be elected President of the United States'.

St. Peter says, 'The U.S.? A black President? You gotta be kidding me! When did this happen?'

And Obama says,..."about twenty minutes ago".

This blogger choses exactly what material is shown on this site.

If I don't like your comments, I flush them down the crapper.

Feel free to wank on about whatever on your own site, but don't expect me to provide a wall for you to deface. My opinions on that matter are made quite clear on my previous post.

Those who have been visiting for a while know that I usually tolerate the eccentric or the permanently baffled and don't delete those who don't agree with posts.

But unlike in real life, I can't frog-march nasty little oiks off and give them a slapping. So I do what they hate and make their posts vanish.

Blog of the month

Last of the Few

Hat Tip: Barnsley Bill

Prison Contrababnd

"...Banning contact visits with inmates is the best way to stamp out drug smuggling into prisons, says prison officer' union boss Beven Hanlon Mr Hanlon was commenting after the drug `P', worth around $26,000 on the blackmarket, was found during a cell search in Auckland's Mt Eden Prison.

Corrections Department northern regional manager Warren Cummins said the amount of the drug was roughly equivalent in size and weight a box of matches..."

Damned right- that's one of the better ways of keeping drugs out, but the trouble is that lack of a real will at the political levels to get serious about contraband.

Simply, it cost money to do effective searching and border control- stopping accomplices throwing contraband over walls. They love to whine about drugs in prisons and like to play on bent staff bringing them in. Sure, that happens, but the technology is available to screen far more effectively. The sort of scanners used in airports, for example.

Searches are very time consuming- even a simple pat-down of a whole work party takes a while. A cell search can easily take half an hour- depending on the amount of personal crap the inmate has- another point that needs sorting- they are allowed far too much stuff.

But much contraband come in through a route that can't be searched and one that nobody wants to be discussed.

Up their arses!

You can get a lot of drugs into a 35mm film container. That sad sack of shit troll Biggirlsblouse could probably hide ten-litre pail up it's abused orifice.

This one wasn't in doubt

"It took a long time but the decision was right in the end, relieved parents said after Lipine Sila was found guilty of two murders and eight counts of grievous bodily harm today..."

Good- this sack of shite is in dire need of thirty years inside (seeing as we can't hang the fucker)

The jury took a long time- I was wondering WTF was going on, but found they had many charges to deliberate on. And in my opinion, they got it right this time.

On the subject of juries, some of you may not be aware that blokes like me are not allowed to be part of one, on account of having served in the Military, Corrections or the Police (Two of three for me). Something to do with being hard-nosed realists, I suspect...

Don't push your luck...

Custody- Not a chance- one thing that was established is that NOBODY from this family is fit to have a canary in a cage in their 'care'

They need gelding with clever and boathook, one and all!

And now you want to launch a complaint about police handling of the case. Quite a few people out there are also pissed that there wasn't a result.

If the police weren't forced to do the PC pussyfooting about they may well have been a very different result.

You got a 'not guilty' on a murder charge. (shame we don't have the 'Not proven guilty' verdict here)

But are 'guilty' of having a lifestyle that directly caused the death of these children. Think about it- if you had a pool and one of your kids fell in and drowned- you would be prosecuted! If you left them in a car unattended you would be prosecuted. It seems it is ok to leave them while you and a bunch of rock-apes drug yourselves insensible I guess thats because you don't know better and have had a hard life. [gags]

Forget about getting big money out of this (only lawyers win here) . You are getting to much out of the taxpayers as it is...

From the shallow end of the gene pool...

Ok, it could be said 'that was just a dumb mistake'

How did he explain getting into this predicament?

"I had just had surgery on my lung after puncturing it in a motorbike accident and had forced myself from hospital at 3pm to make my mate's wedding by four," he said. "I guess with all that morphine and all the narcotics they had been pumping into me and after jumping straight into jugs of beer, you could pretty much see what was going to happen."

Keep it up- you seem a candidate for a Darwin Award.

Such good use of of tax dollars and hospital staff's time, patching up those who seem hell-bent on their own destruction!

A resounding 'Screw you!' on this!

"...Former Prime Minister Sir Geoffrey Palmer says it could be time to examine the right of people accused of crimes to remain silent..."

Typical- use the vile behavior of NZ's dysfunctional lowlife to shaft us all. Another excuse to erode individual rights.

"...Mr Fairbrother said New Zealand today was different from old English society, which developed the law to protect powerless suspects against the overwhelming power of the state..."

The right to silence is an ancient one and is as relevant today as it was way back then. The piece in bold says it all!

IF there is no physical evidence- and with technology that is far less likely than in the past- we CANNOT force the suspect to incriminate themselves! (Satisfying as it may be to beat it out of the likes of those in the latest trial!)

Retaining the right to silence is NOT up for discussion!

Hanging on with a death grip!

"...Prime Minister Helen Clark has indicated the election will be held late in the electoral cycle..."

No great surprises there!

She's not looking forward to her upcoming pay cut...

Missing the point here

Friggin' do-gooders like this Susan St John* need shooting with a ball of their own shit!

"...Forgotten and invisible are the 200,000 children and their parents who eke out a subsistence living on benefits, propped up by a variety of income and asset-tested, stigmatising special hardship payments, loans from Work and Income as well as from high-cost loan sharks. Do the needs of these families not count as much as the needs of those over 65? The relativity with net wages for those on sickness, sole parent and other benefits has been falling for some time. This Budget amplifies that fall, pushing these families further to the margins of society outside the normal living standards of the community..."

These families are not meant to live on these benefits FOR MORE THAN A SHORT TIME. They are meant to find friggin' jobs! Over 65's have (presumably) paid their dues and DO have to live out their lives on what they get.

Ok...

So why does the proposed tunnel under Jaffa Harbour cost over $1 billion. And Transmission gully cost $700 million+?

When this cost E394 million just a few years back.

In another socialist basket-case country.

Now HERE is BOLD proposal!

"I'm pleased to present a real alternative to the tax-and-spend budget that Labour will present at 2 pm today," Libertarianz Leader Bernard Darnton said today.

"Unlike Michael Cullen, Libertarianz believes your money belongs to you," explains Darnton. "That's why our budget is designed to slash taxes and let you keep far more of your own money."

"Other parties will be making a big deal about finally offering you a tax cut this year. Libertarianz policy has always been and will always be to cut taxes as fast and as hard as possible. If you are lucky, Michael Cullen will grudgingly give you back $20 a week after nine years in power. John Key is offering $50 – eventually."

"Libertarianz will make the first $50,000 of income tax-free immediately. This means that the average New Zealand household, with an income of $68,000, would keep an extra $403 per week, going a long way to offset rising food, electricity and fuel prices."

"We will also immediately get rid of GST, knocking $20 off a $250 grocery bill and ten dollars off the price of a tank of petrol."

"The government will say they can't afford this – but it's not their money – it's YOURS. You have the right to spend your money however you wish. Libertarianz is pro-choice when it comes to your money."

"Of course you can't cut tax without cutting government spending – and we're happy to oblige. Education, health, and superannuation are far too important to be left in the hand of politicians."

"We will allow people to spend as much or as little of their money on these as they wish. It is up to you to decide how much to spend on your family's healthcare, your family's education and your family's future."

"Schools and hospitals will be given back, as shares, to all New Zealanders. All other state assets not required for the essential functions of government (law and order, and defence) will be sold. The proceeds will be used to fund superannuation and healthcare for the retired, along with residual obligations such as ACC, invalids benefits. The DPB will continue for three years."

"The only legitimate function of government is to safeguard the rights and freedoms of New Zealanders. To this end, Libertarianz is committed to expenditure for two areas: law and order, and defence. We will spend an extra ten billion dollars over five years upgrading New Zealand's woeful defence capability. This means more frigates, more Orions, rebuilding the strike wing of the Air Force, and providing su rveillance aircraft for border protection. These are key components of building a credible defence force."

"With the Libertarianz budget, the churning of money through the government's sticky fingers will be almost eliminated by the tax-free threshold. A flat tax on income over that $50,000 threshold of 25%, reducing 5% per year for 5 years, will fund a smooth transition. After 5 years, no more revenue will collected from the citizenry by coercion or force. Taxes will be voluntary."

Darnton concludes, "It's enough to make you vote Libertarianz!"

How Bizzare!

"...More than 70 years after they first met, teenage sweethearts Phil O'Neill and Joan Dean are about to marry.

The pair, both now 85, grew up in Masterton but were separated when World War 2 broke out and Mrs Dean's father forbade her to see Mr O'Neill for religious reasons.

Mrs Dean married and settled in Masterton while Mr O'Neill married in England, later moving to Lower Hutt.

Mutual friends put them in touch after their spouses died, and the pair reignited their relationship in January this year.

They got engaged in March, and plan to marry in Masterton, probably at the end of June..."

When asked why they waited so long they replied: "We were waiting for the children to die."

Update:

It's actually a true story!

The last line was mine (Sort of- I stole it from an old Kenny Everett skit)

Dickhead pollitician is off in La-La Land

Hone (WOFTAM)* Harawira spewed forth

"...Look at that dickhead of a judge who sent that kid to jail for tagging because the judge thought it was culturally offensive," he said.

"Is that part of the law now? What a bloody joke..."

Link:

Who is the friggin' dickhead here?

Here is a judge actually doing what us taxpayers want- coming down hard on WILLFUL PROPERTY DAMAGE. That's what it is- it ain't 'graffiti' or 'free expression of the poor downtrodden yoof. It is WILLFUL PROPERTY DAMAGE.

I consider this a serious matter- as does anyone who has had to PAY to have the defacement to their property removed. To make it worse, there are fascist councils around who demand that you remove the damage to your property at your expense!

Personally, I wish the judge had the tool of flogging at his disposal. it's a fitting punishment to those who like to leave their mark- to recieve a few of their own!

The results of my inquest.

Muliaga family hopes for answers at inquest

Here:

My findings:

The family members in contact with the deceased at and just before the time of death should be charged for failing to render aid in that:

They failed to call an ambulance.
They failed to move the deceased to a location with electricity.
They failed to contact any other person who could have made the above arrangements.

Also, they and the deceased are responsible for not paying their account or making arrangements with the electricity provider, or not communicating the importance of maintaining the electricity supply. They are also remiss in not making a contingency plan for the loss of power- an event not unknown in Auckland.

The most charitable summation is that all are guilty of profound stupidity.

It's that or they deliberately allowed her to die.

Obama for my US readers

Vote for me or the Nigger gets it!

I'm calling 'Bullshit' on this!

"...Children are most at risk during Auckland's afternoon rush hour, with nearly half of all child pedestrian crashes occurring between 3 and 7pm..."

No shit, that's when, presumably, they are out of school. THIS is the bullshit:

"...Initiatives such as the Walking School Bus were helping to lower the injury toll, but these tended to be concentrated in wealthier areas where parents had the time to walk their child to, and home from, school. In poorer areas, where both parents often worked, it was harder to implement such schemes..."

Here we go- it's all the fault of poverty-AGAIN. But hang on- in the 'poor' areas, presumably there are more parents with time on their hands. Don't give me that 'two parents working' crap- the same is equally true in the 'wealthy' areas.

Shall we say there is less community spirit in the poorer areas. It's hard enough to get parents involved in ANY school activities anywhere.

I would also argue that the kids of the poor are, shall we say- 'genetically pre-disposed towards suboptimal performance'...

Tell us something we all knew!

The Ad's ARE louder then the programs!

Here:

Even half-deaf types like myself knew this, but now it's proven.

This is one reason why I channel-hop. Take note advertisers- the loud ad makes me change the channel- it didn't goddamn work!

The other main reason is the endless friggin' 'Public Information' crap paid for by our taxes. The fact that smoking is not conducive to good heath is as obvious as the fact that the ads are louder. That has been fairly well known for about forty-fifty years. Those that don't get it never will- even if you add a bit of real diseased lung to each packet of fags!

BTW- Here is someone else that doesn't like the deluge of taxpayer funded stating of the bloody obvious!

Freak Show

If you want to be radically different- be prepared to accept the consequences. A hell of a lot of us don't happen to care for your weird sexuality.

If you can't make up your mind as to whether you are Arthur or Martha- that's YOUR malfunction. Deal with the fact that blokes don't want a mincing queen in the gym changing rooms and the girls don't want someone with a willy in their's.

And nobody wants somebody with stinking BO in the gym!

The gym owners probably don't give a crap about you being a gender-bender- but they DO care about customers complaining, especially when they might lose their patronage. That's the way of the world and you better get used to it.

The human rights commission need a big, fat reality pill too...

Petrol Panic!

It's a bit overdone- all the tripe about carpooling, fuel saving and the usual nauseous government interventions [retching noise]

I heard all the same blather as petrol went past the dollar a gallon mark!

Them that needs to have already economized. Those who can don't need to worry about the cost- well- they don't worry about the cost. So why wank on about carpooling like the concept has just been invented?

The whole carpooling thing only works when you have the following conditions:

  • All concerned live near each other
  • All concerned work very near to each other
  • All start and finish at the same time
  • There are no freeloaders in the pool

So that's why all the cars with one person in them!

Carless days [insert Tui ad here]

Some of us remember how well THAT brain fart worked!

Public transport would be fine IF it went where you wanted it and when- assuming you had any AND the public didn't use it. When I first started working in a prison, the smell reminded me of trains in the 1960-70's- stale tobacco and unwashed 'humanity'

And anyone suggesting lowering the speed limit to 80kph should just cut their wrists now!

Mercy, Overlord!

I love the latest drooling from stoopid Soo!

"...Ms Bradford said the report was "damning confirmation that Labour's welfare policies condemn many beneficiaries and their families to a life of debt, deprivation and despair".

It was clear Labour believed the best way to motivate beneficiaries into paid work was to keep benefits so low that people were desperate to find work whatever situation they were in..."

I'm not sure about Liarbour are aiming to do do with the poor. Nothing much, I suspect. They know well that the bottom of the heap won't vote for anybody else, so why bother with them. The same reason they don't try to appeal to the other end of the spectrum.

Ignore the bloodstock and the culls and work on the rest of the cud-chewing herd.

But Soo- you vile hypocrite- you Greenie wankers would happily drag us all* down to squalid poverty with your Luddite philosophy's. A deliberate act of destruction.

The resource management act- the NIMBY's best friend

A couple of whinging arseholes have caused a project worth 60+ million a year to be lost

That 60 mill is a hell of a lot of money in a small rural town.

"...A petition in Martinborough seeking to quantify support for the cuisine school gathered a massive 1700 signatures, in a town with a population of 1200.

The sole objection to consent being given was lodged jointly by Positively Martinborough, John Porter and Christian Ullrich..."

There you have it- massive local support but let a handful of NIMBY's object and the whole deal stonewalls, as the backers can't afford to wait a couple of years for the machine to grind away.

I hope the locals consider very carefully whether they want to do business with those who use the RMA to their own ends.

Story:

Another reason to scrap the RMA

Fair enough, I reckon

If you are a donor, why not get dibs on spare parts!

Actually, I fail to see why anyone opposed to donating their body parts should expect to get a transplant.

Cheated- I don't think so

"Organisers of a petition to force a smacking referendum have been dealt a major blow after failing to gather enough signatures.

They now have two more months to collect enough signatures.

The petition needed 280,275 signatures to force a referendum but fell short after a number were excluded because they were either illegible, the signatory's date of birth could not be confirmed, or involved people who signed multiple times..."

I have heard this described as people 'cheating' by signing multiple times.

Knowing the tactics employed by the likes of the green and liarbour- I would think 'Sabotaged' would be more like it...

I WILL NOT HAVE DISGUSTING FAT BODIES IN MY WORKERS PARADISE!

Time travelling

On one of my trips to the 35th century, I happened to pick up a schoolbook for one of my host's children.

Flicking through it, I found a chapter- The 21st Century- the century of 'The Big Lie'- The Year 2000 Bug, bird flu, man-made global warming, Islam- the religion of peace.

Reading on-"These were the classic 'Big Lies' that marked the start of this century and sparked the movement leading to the total rejection of the hopelessly flawed 'Democratic' method of government.

Of course now we all realize that governance by unskilled elected officials is an jumpbug crash waiting to happen, but back then they were convinced that THIS was an enlightened form of managing a population center. It is well documented that many realized the folly of unearned franchise and that the resultant 'bread & circuses mentality would eventually destroy a society, but unfortunately for our predecessors..."

Other peoples money

Other peoples money is SO much fun to spend! And so painless when spread over a couple of million who have to actually stump up for your wet-dream!

Like the National Socialists Great Fibre Vision.

A cry taken up by all those with a vested interest (now where did I put those 'principles'?) Dangle the right bauble and they all do a Winston!

They COULD try promoting property rights that prevent the ugly threat of looting (AKA nationalizing)

Just perhaps that MIGHT encourage investment?

Who the hell would invest in a network that the powers-that-be can steal with the stroke of a pen? The mere hint of a threat of this happening will keep the cheque books closed in NZ.

Anyhoo- Liberty Scott has a great discourse on the subject here:

Most hated word of the week

'Disrespected'

This word/term gives me the shits!

MY definition "Exclamation given by a low class piece of trash when their over-inflated sense of self-worth is offended"

Example "Y'all disrespected me!"

Translation- Spoke a truthful statement regarding another of (typically) low caste

Some people need lives...

I thought we could still discriminate against fat bastards!

They got away with it- just.

Looks like soon the only ones left that are fair game are smokers and objectivists!

Back

Christchurch drivers still can't.

Tip jars- more collectivist bullshit.

Beer is cheaper in Christchurch.

English is the default setting and I don't want to "Push One" to see the display in that language.

Indicators are not an optional extra.

Things change in 14 years- a lot.

'Adventure Sports' DO contain an element of risk and danger- or they wouldn't be an adventure.

Getting from one side of Christchurch to the other IS an adventure sport!

My favorite eateries are now chains- and still great. Yay capitalism!

Sea Sickness pills don't always work on children.

There is something wrong when the Cook Strait ferry has better service than our 'National Airline' (WAY better)

Hagglunds are cool!

'Three Boys' Pilsner- worth the $7.75 a bottle.

I hate buses even more than I used to.

I hate camper vans even more than I used to.

Reminiscing tonight

40 years ago I first cheated the man with the scythe for the first time, when a garage roof has a close encounter with my house. IF I had been following instructions and had stayed put, I would have been dog-tucker.

Youcan't have it both ways

We keep hearing about how we ALL are responsible for the shit that happens in a community.

We keep getting asked about what are WE ALL going to do about problems.

Then when We DO SOMETHING we are the criminals and wind up in court.

Poison my arse.

What a load of shite. ANYTHING will kill you if you overdo it. ANYTHING.

To call butter poisonous is just emotive twaddle. The sort of thing we are hearing more and more from liabour loving academics.

Breaking the cycle

On the subject of full-time thieving:

"...We are never going to stop generations of burglars from burgling. It's an historic problem. Prevention is a community concept."

You can sure as hell slow it down, though.

For a repeat offense- brand 'Burglar' on the scrote's forehead.

Next time- whack a hand off.

If they can't learn from that- hang the swine!

While we are on the subject- if there isn't a market for stolen DVD's and LCD tv's- there would be FAR less of a problem. Those who support the thief buy buying dodgy items from him are as much of the problem.

They are also in need of a flogging and a spell in the stocks!

Greenery

I find the 'save the planet religion' somewhat amusing- or did until they started evangelizing.

Then, like all evangelists- they became a pain in the arse.

All my life I have been turning off lights and unused appliances, minimizing waste, recycling, reusing and generally scrounging and repairing cast-offs. I don't like waste- that's been drummed into me growing up and it always came down to money. I insulate and use low-energy whatevers WHEN they cost me less to use them and do the maths to prove that they will- or won't. All our food scraps are composted and returned to the garden.

A Greenie?- like hell- it's the Scot's blood! A dollar spent on the electricity is a dollar less for whiskey!

A refreshing change!

The trend now is for companies to give some hand-wringing response when challenged over anything environmental.

Not the chap in this story!

"...Graham Higginson, who has fished eel commercially for more than three decades in Wairarapa, was speaking yesterday after reading a Times-Age story outlining the discovery by a Featherston man on Friday of "thousands" of dead and dying eels left stranded after weed-clearing work beside a stream at Lake Reserve.

Pilcher Earthmoving owner Gary Pilcher said he had seen no eels during the weed-clearing work earlier in the week and that "when a blocked drain is holding up production I don't give a fat rat's arse about the eels I don't care"...."

The lake is in the NATURAL process of silting up, as it has been doing for many years- it is mostly about one meter deep. this is the way of these lakes and waterways- they change all on their own. Lets not stop that getting in the way of a story, though.

"...What we now are facing is nothing short of an ecological disaster that's filling Lake Onoke and Lake Wairarapa, the jewel in our crown, with sediment," he (Higginson)said..."

Nature in action- just like with climate variations!

But it's more fun to blame people...

An understatement

Weleda Heat Rub!

Deep Heat ain't worth mentioning and Tiger Balm is for Nancy boys! This stuff is really GOOD!

In a world full of product hyperbole, Weleda HEAT rub is an understatement.

While the label indicates a list of herbal nasties, I somehow think they left out a few of the ingredients- such as hydrazine, nuclear waste, fuming red nitric acid and Kaitaia Fire!

"...Apply once daily, or as directed by your practitioner. Use sparingly until you are used to the heat.

Warnings: For external use only. Wash hands thoroughly after use, and avoid contact with broken skin, mucous membranes and eyes. Not recommended for children..."

They also should mention double-gloving and wrapping the anointed part least the goo get elsewhere- heaven forbid on a pink part! Or even worse- on somebody near & dear's pink parts!

About once a year I get some minor sprain and get the tube out- this stuff is magic!

What sort of clowns...

...spend their free time (something they must have far too much of) complaining about pizza ads

I suspect it is a small group responsible for most of these complaints to the TV Nannying Body.

"...5. Charlie's Old Fashioned Lemon Soda, television ad. Children spy on a neighbour topless sunbathing, then they squeeze lemons to make a drink (23). Upheld, not socially responsible..."

Politics, politics, politics

While on her morning walk, Helen Clark falls over, has a heart attack and dies because the accident and emergency dept at her nearest hospital is too understaffed to treat her in time.
So her soul arrives in Heaven and he is met by Saint Peter at the Pearly Gates.
"Welcome to Heaven," says Saint Peter, "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a Socialist around these parts, so we're not sure what to do with you."
"No problem, just let me in; I'm a good Christian; I'm a believer," says the PM.
"I'd like to just let you in, but I have orders from God Himself. He says that since the implementation of his new HEAVEN CHOICES policy, you have to spend one day in Hell and one day in Heaven. Then you must choose where you'll live for eternity."
"But I've already made up my mind. I want to be in Heaven," replies Clark.
"I'm sorry .. But we have our rules," Peter interjects. And, with that, St. Peter escorts her to an elevator and he goes down, down, down
...all the way to Hell.
The doors open and he finds herself in the middle of a lush golf course.
The sun is shining in a cloudless sky. The temperature is a perfect 22C degrees. In the distance is a beautiful club-house. Standing in front of it is Norm Kirk and thousands of other Socialist luminaries who had helped her out over the years --- All of the Labour Party leaders were there .. Everyone laughing, happy, and casually but expensively dressed.
They run to greet her, to hug her and to reminisce about the good times they had getting rich at the expense of 'suckers and peasants.'
They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster and caviar.
The Devil himself comes up to Clark with a frosty drink, "Have a tequila and relax, Helen!"
"Uh, I can't drink anymore, I took a pledge," says Clark, dejectedly.
"This is Hell, girl. You can drink and eat all you want and not worry and it just gets better from there!"
Clark takes the drink and finds herself liking the Devil, who she thinks is a really very friendly bloke who tells funny jokes like herself and pulls hilarious nasty pranks, kind of like the ones the Labour Party pulled with the Bill Of Rights Act and the Education, Immigration, Tough on Crime promises.
They are having such a great time that, before she realises it, it's time to go. Everyone gives her a big hug and waves as she steps on the elevator and heads upward.
When the elevator door reopens, she is in Heaven again and Saint Peter is waiting for her. "Now it's time to visit Heaven," the old man says, opening the gate.
So for 24 hours Clark is made to hang out with a bunch of honest, good-natured people who enjoy each other's company, talk about things other than money and treat each other decently. Not a nasty prank or short-arse joke among them. No fancy country clubs here and, while the food tastes great, it's not caviar or lobster. And these people are all poor. She doesn't see anybody she knows and she isn't even treated like anyone special!
"Whoa," she says uncomfortably to herself. "Geoffry Palmer never prepared me for this!"
The day done, Saint Peter returns and says, "Well, you've spent a day in Hell and a day in Heaven. Now choose where you want to live for Eternity."
With the 'Deal or No Deal' theme playing softly in the background, Clark reflects for a minute ... Then answers: "Well, I would never have thought I'd say this -- I mean, Heaven has been delightful and all -- but I really think I belong in Hell with my friends."
So Saint Peter escorts her to the elevator and she goes down, down, down, all the way to Hell.
The doors of the elevator open and she is in the middle of a barren scorched earth covered with garbage and toxic industrial wasteland, looking a bit like the eroded, rabbit and fox affected Australian outback, but worse and more desolate.

She is horrified to see all of her friends, dressed in rags and chained together, picking up the roadside rubbish and putting it into black plastic bags. They are groaning and moaning in pain, faces and hands black with grime.
The Devil comes over to Clark and puts an arm around her shoulder." I don't understand," stammers a shocked Clark, "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and a club-house and we ate lobster and caviar and drank tequila. We lazed around and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and everybody looks miserable!"
The Devil looks at her, smiles slyly and purrs, "Yesterday we were campaigning; today you voted for us!"

Here endth the lesson...

Resource Management Act [Tui ad here]

"Greytown people are either in the happy situation where money is no object or they just can't get the message when it comes to saving water.

The town's water usage is way out of whack with other towns in South Wairarapa and with metered water now a reality the financial cost of wasting it will soon hit home.

"...Latest figures show that Greytown soaked up 73,353 cubic metres in February more than 12,000cu m more than Martinborough, and 20,000cu m more than Featherston.

Over the last year Greytown has consistently used far more reticulated water each month than either of the other two towns and in winter uses double the amount used in Martinborough despite having only fractionally more connections to the water mains..."

Link:

These people are the highest per capita water users in NZ. The RMA does diddly squat about their water use/abuse. Water meter mean they will have to pay. This will be a big fat 'so what' When you have spent 20k on landscaping for your quaint little cottage, you don't give a shit about another grand a year in water charges.

Nor does the RMA stop farmers pumping aquifers dry to keep their cows producing milk, in the same area.

So what does the RMA do- jack squat.

Scrap the fricking waste of time RMA!. All it does is add costs to projects that will happen regardless.

The SWDC don't have the balls to enforce their minimal restrictions- as all the locals know. So the locals will continue to hose down their fences & driveways during the middle of summer without fear of penalty.

To the locals- don't bother to call your local councilors. It ain't entirely their fault. The non-elected 'officials' are the ones running out of control.

Think about that last point...

Every now and again I see something saying that yet another person I know has seperated/divorced.

As often as not I know that these are good people.

Not some feckless twats that have just played the French card after a few months.

I can't help but wonder why I have remained married. Apparently, the odds of remaining married ( with an Autistic child) are less than 20% in the 5 year period.

Like Han Solo in SW4- NEVER tell me the odds!

Perhaps I took the vows literally...
