Keep your goddamn snout out!

Porirua first council to back anti-smacking bill

1.00pm Thursday August 10, 2006By Benjamin Heather

Porirua City Council last night became the first local authority in the country to fly its flag in support of the anti-smacking bill.

More Dribble here:

Goddamn councils should stick to what most ratepayers want them to do. Water, Sewerage, footpaths, mowing the park, removing rubbish.

Let's face it- they are so ineffective at delivering even these core services that these are usually contracted out. The average council 'worker' couldn't find his or her own arse with both hands and a GPS!

Third-rate engineers, lazy clerks and building inspectors that couldn't build a dog house.

What people are missing, is that everything like the latest saving us from ourselves campaign COSTS the RATEPAYER'S. That's us folks, and don't think that just because you rent, you ain't funding these chair-polishers.

Community this and that, safety programes, sister cities- they are all rorts designed around empire building and perks for the cronies funded by monet taken from YOU!

Ever noticed that it is a rates DEMAND?

Sumo wrestling

Can there be a more pointless or revolting sport out there?

Two quivering mounds of blubber shoving each other, man-breasts jiggling.

It's not even interesting or exciting- getting shoved out of a circle after a minute of grunting and farting.

When you have a body like Fat Bastard's- please cover it up for the sake of humanity! Keep the goddamn kimono ON!

Road rage

There are two kinds.

Those who cause it by driving like a maniac and those who do the same by being over (read super) cautious.

The wife got one today, by daring to drive slowly past a school at 3PM. As you should, if you have more than 2 brain cell in your hat storage rack. For the wanker in the black dorkmobile hatch- giving my wife the finger will get you bitch-slapped by someone who used to get paid for doing just that!

I got the other sort. They stopped their over-inflated roller skate in the middle of SH2, to wait for traffic in the other lane to go by, in order to drive on the wrong side of the road and avoid the flooding. Visibility was shit BTW.

I cut inside as an evasive move and put up a huge bow wave going through the water. (What's the fun in having a 4WD if you can't do that?)

But what moron stops in the middle of a state highway?- all they had to do was slow to the posted 30k to get through the puddle without drowning. If I had hit that pregnant snail, they would have been toast!

That pisses me off- when idiots put themselves in a position where I can kill them. If I'm going to kill someone, I would prefer it be because I want to make them dead!

Happy Hiroshima Day

"...Tens of thousands of people from around the world gathered in Hiroshima on Sunday to pray for peace and urge the world to abandon nuclear weapons on the 61st anniversary of the first atomic bombing. Blah, blah, blah..."

Link:

Nuclear weapons have been all that have kept this world from tearing itself apart for the last sixty-odd years.

Japan collected two buckets of sunshine, compliments of the USA and they haven't been used since. Now if anyone had it coming to them, Japan did. Germany would have been on the the recieving end too, had they held out a bit longer. Instead, they got cities incinerated in firestorms, with an even greater loss of life.

The assault on Japan would have cost more than a million Allied troops. Better a couple of hundred thousand aggresors get the big firework. Before you start crying about the civilian population, do a little research on Japan's biological warfare unit and what they did to China- the legacy of which continues to today- just like with radiation.

Moral of the story?

Don't friggin' attack Pearl Harbour!

'UFO sightings' reported in Manawatu
4.00pm Friday August 4, 2006

Mystery surrounds a number of strange sightings in the Manawatu skies last night.
Several people have contacted Newstalk ZB claiming to have spotted a UFO after seeing lights darting around at speed.
One informant from Feilding said he saw lights doing strange manoeuvres which seemed to violate the law of physics.
Police have been at a loss to explain what the lights may have been.
The Wellington Observatory said a possible explanation could be a bright star low on the horizon but that did not account for the strange movements the lights were making.
Staff at Palmerston North's control tower offered the strongest explanation saying a couple of air force planes were flying around the area before 8 PM.

Now come on- do you think people will believe anything in the news?

Just how gullible do they think we are!

Air Force Planes?- flying?

What is this? 'The Twilight Zone'

Again we take the gold-plated option!

$100 million for a chopper!

Bugger that!

Not that there is anything wrong with them, but we don't get many for OUR money.

What we have now works- we just need new ones and more.

Like these:

Let's get real- they are used here for SAR and civil defence more than anything else.

or is it not PC to buy from the US of A?

'Workers' to be wary of

Those who wank on about the virtues of being a 'team player'

I have come to define this type as:

A shirker who likes to hide in a group.
Somone who will never take the initiative.
Someone who needs their hand held.
Someone who needs to be micro-managed.
A friggin' parasite!

Continued:

A couple of months ago, we got stuck with one of theses clowns.

Immediatly on arriving he started wanking on about teamwork and how important it is that we all support each other.

That set all the warning bells of with me- this always means 'support ME' while I blunder, rort timesheets and do as little useful work as possible. As usual, I was right.

Of course he is totally incompetent and untrainable. The only damned thing he can do are busywork, broom-pushing sort of jobs.

Every single time he has been left on his own, one of us has had to go in and rescue him from some kind of screw-up.

The only thing he can be counted on is to be last to arrive and first to leave.

This is why we need the 90 day trail period in employment law!

I have fallen into temptation!

Yep, SKY!

It wasn't my idea- honest! I don't care for TV usually.

Then I discovered UK TV!

I was weakening at the thought of Discovery, National Geographic, the History Channel and Animal Planet A.K.A 'Big Animals Bonking'- not that I was letting that on.

I got concessions by hlding out!

'She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed' got the SKY with the sports channels.

I got the OK for a new rifle!

Mr 4 already knows the button for the kiddie channels...

Bollocks of the Month

'Economic Violence'

What a crock of shite- even coming from someone reknowned for verbal diarrhea!

News flash - WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE 'POOR'!

Of course, much depends on your definition of 'poor'. I have seen very few cases of starvation hanging around WINZ or the courts, of late. When lack of playstations, computers and internet access come into the equation, I take the measurement of poverty with a very large grain of salt.

There can be no doubt that there is hardship with children. They pay the price for their scumbag parents choices- widescreen tv's and booze & fags ahead of book, good food and warm clothes. THEY and they alone get my sympathy. They would be better off in an orphanage than being used as a meal ticket. Even the well- documented sadism of the nuns pales into insignificance when compared to life in some of the squalid, drug-infested cesspits these dregs live in.

Now, if everybody in this country was given a house, a car and $100k in the bank plus a job -within a year the status quo would have reasserted itself. Most of the lower class (if we have a middle class, we must have a lower class too!) would have no home and be broke. They would be after a handout and crying that 'the system' did them out of what was theirs.

Such is life.

To suggest that by not throwing more money into the equivilent of a black hole, we are commiting an act of violence on the 'poor' is the product of a twisted mind and disgusts me!

Setting the stage for Nanny State

'Target' is playing in the background.

I wonder if there is another agenda here, apart from the obvious TV sensationalism.

Are they setting the sheeple up for more regulation to 'save us from dodgy tradesmen?'

It wouldn't suprise me...

Disproportionate force- getting the job done

There has been a lot of fuss about Israel using 'disproportionate force'

This is understandable as tree-huggers and bliss bunnies seldom do a stint in the military and actually stick their arses on the line.

The name of the game is disproportionate force. You want your guys alive and their's dead.

War is not single combat nor is it sport- two evenly matched opponents/teams slugging it out. Not if you want to win. You want it as disproportionate as you can stack the odds! You don't call him out like in the westerns- you hide behing something big and solid and shoot him in the arse with an elephant gun!

I had this drummed into me very early on in my military career! I was given a target- lone enemy grunt and gave a fire command which directed a rifleman to engage him.

WRONG !

The instructor explained quietly and painfully (the SAS chaps didn't yell a lot- they didn't need to) that I should use the whole fucking rifle section if I wanted him taken out today, given the way most of us dumb grunts could barely hit the side of a hill.

You always remember the one you got wrong!

The IDF is doing it right. If you see a rifleman- mortar him. If it's machine gun- shell him. If they have a mortar- send in an airstrike.

You use every asset at your disposal to get the other guy dead before he does the same to you.

Look to Vietnam for an example of where the full force of the US was continually held back by stinkin' politicans.

An Israel to see how it should be done. Give the military a job and let them get on with it.

As Patton said "You WILL NOT die for your country- you will make those Nazi sons-of-a-bitches die for their country!"

Nanny State's lapdogs at it again

Folate in bread is the latest do-gooder plan to save us from ourselves.

Take your 'enriched' bread, scrunch it up with herbs, onions and an egg and STUFF IT UP YOUR ARSES!

This is something everyone will be paying extra for. Just because some breeders can't be stuffed eating a balanced diet when they are knocked up.

To hell with that- where does it end? vitamins sprinked on the fish & chips? Minerals in the Fanta?

I remember hearing of vitamin enriched cereal in the US and thinking 'Only in America!'
Here in NZ we just eat properly, I thought. And mostly, we do.

No doubt some manufacture of folate is lobbying to make a bit of money here- and Nanny State takes it hook, line & sinker!

Sunday School

Today was powder-burning day here:

Being 'real gun' day, nothing less than a .45 was used!

Didn't have time to get the .50 muzzle-stuffer out unfortunatly. Today was a bit of a flying visit.

The main purpose of the day was to check out the range for flinging balista bolts at barrels. That will make a change from Buffalo rifles and model cannons!

It is, so we will!

Beer O'Clock

Tonight's tipple is Monteith's Tripel

Made in the style of pisshead monks, this brew packs a mighty wallop at 8%

Doesn't half taste bad either!

Very malty with a hint of citrus, it's smoothness hides the lurking alcohol lurking in the background.

Bold and strong, but a delicately complex beer, just like it says on the back of the bottle.

About $12.60 a four-pack at Woolworths.

Recommended at the price!

Police, Prostitutes and Politicans.

I've been following the saga of the moonlighting- or should that be the red-lighting policewoman.

I believe that prostitution never has been a crime, when it's consenting adults involved.

But I don't think it's a good idea for someone involved in policing. As an ex-police friend said "It's not illegal, nor is joining the mongrel mob- I don't think someone doing either should be involved in the police force."

Our police get censured for doing all manner of things that do almost unremarked on by Joe Public. Getting rat-arsed and puking in the gutter, a minor altercation with another, posing nude for a magazine. It seems to me that you are expected to have higer standards when you enforce the law. That's no bad thing, however- the sort of people that will take this job on are often no saints! The sheepdogs that protect the sheeple from the wolves out there, cannot be gentle vegetarians.

Still, when they break the rules, they know they will get clobbered. For those who go on about police whitewashes- the reality is they will come down on their own far harder than you would imagine. A policeman subjected to an internal investigation gets put under the microscope in a way criminals are usually not (apart from Tim Selwyn, perhaps).

OK, we expect our police to behave better than the rest of us generally law-abiding citizens. I think that's fair enough and I beieve most police believe or accept that too.

WHY then don't those who MAKE the laws have to meet these standards? Any kind of standards seem to be lacking there. Why should ex-prostitutes be allowed to be in parliment, for example.

Surely those who purport to be our rulers should ALL be on the moral high ground?

But a politican on high moral ground would indeed be in a lonely place...

More plaugarised stuff

Senator Hillary Clinton (D, NY) and former Attorney General Janet Renowere having one of those girl-to-girl talks, and Hillary says to Janet, "You're lucky that you don't have to put up with men having sex with you. I have to put up with Bill, and there is no telling who he was in last."

Janet responded, "Just because I am aesthetically challenged (that's"politically correct" for ugly as a mud fence) does not mean I don'thave to fight off unwelcome sexual advances."

Hillary asks, "Well, how do you deal with the problem?" Janet: "Whenever I feel that a guy is getting ready to make a pass at me, I muster all my might, tense, and squeeze to break wind as loud and hard as I can."

That night, Bill was already in bed with the lights out when Hillaryslips into bed. She could hear him start to stir, and knew that hewould be wanting some action. She had been saving gas all day long and was ready for him. She tenses up her butt cheeks and forces out the mostdisgusting sound you could imagine.

Bill rolls over and says, "Janet, is that you?

Friggin' space cadet greenies!

Federated Farmers have had a gutsful of the useless bloody greens poking their statist noses where the aren't wanted.

"I say shame on the people who elevate environmentalism to a religious status, shame on you for your arrogance, shame on all of us for allowing the environmentalists' war against the human race to begin, and take hold," Mr Pedersen said today.

Too right!

Despite what some town-dwellers might like to think, farming is the bread & butter of NZ. Aside from that, I have never seen a software application or a peice of scenery that I can eat.

There is an old line about what a greenie is- someone who already had a bush cabin.

I could add another.

Someone who has never spent the school holidays grubbing thistles.

They ain't called 'Watermelons' for nothing- green on the outside and red on the inside.

The great concern for mother earth is just window dressing for the ground-level support. Usually from the young, naieve and inexperienced. At the political level they are just another bunch of control freaks hell-bent on dictating how others must live.

To call Mr Pederson,s scathing remarks as 'Hysterical' is a bit rich coming from a party who live by scaremongering and predicting doom and despair...

How many have to die like this?

How many have to die like this before we take murder seriously and start stringing up the filth that do it ?

How many more die before a life sentence means LIFE in jail?

How many more die while apologists make excuses for the inexcusable?

How long before it happens to somebody YOU know?...

On Buskers and Beggers

While walking about Wellington with a friend (who is a rabid Libertarian) we passed a busker, playing a saxaphone.

He dropped a couple of gold coins in the buskers hat and we carried on.

I asked him "Why on earth did you give him money?- that sort of thing encourages them!"

He replied "The music was good, he was doing something when he could have been doing something and he didn't ask for anything."

Thinking about it, I'm far more likely to make a donation for whatever when I'm not asked. If you push a tin under my nose, you can be sure of getting sweet FA!

Telling me I should give or I'm being selfish ain't going to work here!

Figgin' do-gooders!

Bob Friggin' Geldof can kiss my arse!

We have an out ouf control government pissing our cash away and that wanker says we aren't wasting enough.

Which is exactly what happens when you try to help Africa. The country is a basket case and needs to be left to it's own devices.

Until they change their attitude, they are stuffed. More likely they will all die of AIDS first.

Let Bob sod off over there.

Why indeed?

Yesterday was an *interesting* day.

It started with a blocked irrigation race. I headed down there in my ute, to find the track blocked by about 200 hungry cows. They were waiting for the hay that was on my side of the electric fence.

Dropping the fence as I usually do wasn't therefor an option. Shouldering my rake, Iwalked the remaining 1km through a sea of mud and shit. As soon as I got to the inlet, the rain started. I got to work clearing the flood debris, including a small tree. The rain stopped when I got back to my ute.

The rest of the day was the usual maintainence and inspections until an electrical storm started at 4pm and knocked the plant off-line. With the light fading fast, I made the call to start up the emergency water supply. That meant a trip across country- through five gates and a bog to get to the valves. At the last bastard taranaki gate, I filled a gumboot with water, mud and cowshit. It continued to piss down.

(As I have the only 4WD, I get all these fun jobs!)

With the light gone, the next stop was 25km away to another set of valves. Apart from one sticking and the fact that it was pitch black, this was routine and now the wet boot was warming up. In the shed was a welcome sight- an old damp and slightly mouldy towel that I could use to wipe my glasses dryish.

Another 25km drive with the heater on full. The roads were now flooded, so that slowed the trip a bit.

Finally back in the dry. The electrician had been and gotten the pump motors sorted, so they were running again. Shame about the chlorine injection.

Back out into the rain again, to bleed the injection line & pump. The electrical storm was now in full swing and I now had to climb up onto the reservoir to manually add some hypochlorite.

By the time I got a container of hypo and the ladder, the lightning had mostly stopped, even if the rain had gotten heavier. Now everything was pitch black again and my headlights don't shine up onto the top of the reservoir.

No problem, I've done this in the dark many times and it's only a 2 metre fall into mostly mud and cow shit. As I started to pour in the chemicals, up came The Wind, almost knocking me into the tank. I'm glad it's a small hatchway!

A couple of hours later, I finally got home at about 10pm- very wet, muddy, smelly and cold.

Now tell me why I shouldn't get pissed about my taxes supporting deadbeats that don't/won't work...

Living comfortably on a low income part 2

As you have rightly pointed out, I have missed quite a few tips- I rattled that lot of just before leaving for work. Here's a few more.

Avoid like the plague:
Lotto
TAB
Instant Kiwi
Any raffles

These are not known as 'Tax on the stupid/poor' for nothing.

Tobacco can be grown and cured. The seed is available- don't ask me- google it. If you are reading this, you have internet access or know somebody that does. Better you just don't smoke.

If you can't grow it, it takes about seven butts to make a roll-up. Cigarette butts are easy to find.
(this one I haven't done personally, but saw it all the time working as a prison officer)

Buy needles & cotton- they will pay for themselves many times over. Anyone can stitch a button on or repair a seam.

Gardening can be cost-effective, but you will have to grow from seed- don't buy seedlings- they are expensive. Tomatos can be the exception to this rule.

Collect jars and learn to make preserves & pickles.

Newspapers are free at the library.

Hats and long sleves are cheaper than sunscreen. So is staying out of the sun.

Turn appliances off. Best not to buy them- nobody has been able to explain to me why I need three devices for making toasted sandwiches. A frying pan does just as well.

Fill the jug and boil it, then fill a large thermos for hot drinks.

Avoid toys that use batteries.

Condoms are very cheap at Family Planning- about $2/ 12 pack. I suppose girlie stuff is too.

Family support will never cover the actual cost of a child.

Go shares with other families in bulk purchases. Cleaning products especially can be brought wholesale for a fraction of the retail price. Tip- divide up the product as soon as you buy it!

Buy plainpack.

Don't have pets- if you must- a budgie or goldfish.

Share books, videos, cd's, DVD's with friends. (only if they understand what a 'boomerang' is)

Tap water in a bottle, with a squeeze of lemon. keep that in the fridge insted of soft drinks.

Buy a second-hand bicycle. Ride it.

Sell baking, preserves, produce and handcrafts at the local car boot sale.

Don't do Trademe!

Live comfortably on a low income

It can be done!

But it needs qualities so many are lacking- imagination, planning and discipline.

Here is my sage advice-all real stuff that I have done/do!

SKY- don't go there!
HP- don't go there either
Credit cards- see the above

Find a bank that has a fixed fee for eftpos- my National bank account has a monthly $5 cap on eftpost transaction fees.

Second- hand clothes, especially from the Sallies & other non-profit shops
Wool and polar flecce- wear it and keep the heater off.
Label clothing- don't, unless it is second hand.
Clothing trucks are for seperating fools from money

Don't buy packaged or pre-prepared food.
Learn who sell what cheapest- keep a notebook on staples prices.
If you are not working, you have time to visit the all the supermarkets and glean the best of the specials. If you wouldn't normally buy it, it isn't a 'special'.
Unwashed potatoes are far cheaper.
If you don't have one, buy an Edmonds cookbook- 'The destitute gourmet' is another good one.
Plan a weekly menu, to take advantage of what is on special that week.
A sack of spuds, bag of flour and a tray of eggs will always give you something to fall back on.
Freeze bread and defrost it as you require it.
Take a calculator, pencil and paper to the supermarket.
Work out the cost per gram (packages come in different sizes to stop you making easy comparisons)

Free firewood can often be gleaned from parks, reserves and demolition sites
Walk.
Don't use cellphones, except to take a call or in emergencies. The world won't end if a converstion has to wait for you to get to a landline.
Brew your own beer.
Wine can be made from free fruit- as can jam and perserves- don't know how- see below.

Join a library. Read 'How to' books. They also have DVD's & videos cheap.
Reading in the library during winter nights kept my power bills down when I lived in Christchurch!

Games consoles are cheap-they make their money on the games. Just don't go there.

The world is full of bludgers and bastards!

Bludge
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bludge
This article refers to the Australasian (Australia and New Zealand} slang term. For other uses see Bludger

Bludger is a derogatory slang term for a lazy individual, particularly one who is perceived to receive undeserved welfare or material benefits. "Dole bludger" is a related term in common usage, specifically used to refer to a longterm unemployed person who draws the dole, or state unemployment benefit...

When I'm refering to 'Bludging beneficiaries', the above is the right context. Not those using them as a genuine safety net, but the parasites who stay on the dole as a lifestyle choice. They typically harp on about the dole as their 'right' and endlessly complain about how little they are 'paid'.

The infirm & aged are not the problem. The leech who is a junkie and on a 'Sickness' Benefit is.
The woman who is between jobs is not the problem- the brood sow that keeps poping pups to anonymous sperm donors is.

They deserve nothing but villification and contempt. As does any leech who chooses not to work, while expecting to be supported.

One tireless campaigner is Lindsay Mitchell. Her campaign is to cut the DPB.

I have noticed that many people would agree privately with her ideas, but are reluctant to speak out themselves. Reason- the damned DPB is so pervasive that almost everybody knows somebody on it. People being what they are, won't speak out against those they know- they may offend a divorced friend or a friend who's slutty daughter is taxpayer funded.

To all the roadworkers, linesmen, farmers, plumbers, drainage crews, policemen, firemen, ambulance officers and other working blokes & women who have to get out and do their jobs in whatever crap the weather gods throw at us!

My first glass of tonight I raise to YOU- you who are out there working for wages many city-dwellers would sneer at. Out there in the dark, wet and hands hurting from the cold, fixing something that others need. Freezing rain in your eyes and gumboots full of water.

Doling out the Dole

Doling out the dole

A new way of doling out the Dole? Would This work better than the current system? I suspect that those doling out will get their snouts in the trough first, then cry there is not enough looted money for the 'Poor'

As per usual...

Inmate mentality

I have been out of the job long enough now, to start telling a few stories about experiences.

One day after mail call, one of the Scrotes started ranting and cursing. We watched from the guard room, trying to hide our amusement at the primate threat display going on.

After he had blown off a bit of steam, a couple of us went out to see what was up (having had a small wager on what it was about!)

He was highly indignant that his child had been taken into care, due to the mother of said child having been locked up herself.

This was just not on- what the fuck was she thinking- bitchwhoreslutjunkieslag!

When it was put to him that perhaps this was how she felt when HE got locked away for his theiving habits, he just looked blank, totally failing to comprehend what we had put to him.

He was released shortly afterwards.

And was back inside a couple of months later.

Cold feet- build here...

The shell of the new non-staffed prison is even already there!

Sulphur can be mined and traded for food (I'm sure theWWII K ration can be revived)

Best of all, the underfloor heating is already there!

New just in!

It has been reported that it was so cold in Hastings last Thursday that Donna Awatere-Huata was caught with her hands in her own pockets.

Heated Bloody floors- what next- gold-plated crappers?

So these new five star prisons need heated friggin' floors!

What a load of donkeybollocks!

Make the scum work!- that's the way to warm the idle sods up- heated bloody floors! Set them to breaking rocks with hammers- I never saw anyone doing that shiver!

Next it will be bidets, heated towel rails and friggin' waterbeds!

DO the old folk who can't chop wood anymore, afford electricity or gas get given HEATED FLOORS?- people who have paid their dues!

Of course they friggin' don't! They put on another jersey or an extra pair of socks.

My feet sometimes get cold out working in frozen bush and paddocks- can nanny state please buy me some electric socks?

Ship the bastards to the Auckland Islands, where warm is cuddling up to a seal...

Hanging- something we need to see here

Another fine candidate for hanging:

A filthy, sub-human Paedophille who serves no purpose but to waste oxygen.

Stuff hanging them quietly hidden away.

String the fuckers up in the stadium and sell tickets!

All proceeds to go to their victims!

On Baby Murderers

They should have already done the decent thing and killed themselves but haven't, so hang them.

Those who try to cover up such a murder- flogging, public shaming in the stocks, then prison.

There are no excuses for beating a child to death.

And bring back the workhouse for these friggin' deadbeats who won't support themselves!

Today's Lesson

In ancient Greece, Socrates was widely lauded for his wisdom. One day the great philosopher came across an acquaintence who ran up to him excitedly and said, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about one of your students?"

"Wait a moment," Socrates replied. "Before you tell me I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."

"Triple Filter?"

"That's right,"Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my student, let's take a moment to filter what you are going to say. The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutly sure that what you are about to tell be is true?"

"No," the man said. "Actually, I just heard it."

"All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my student something good?"

"No- on the contrary..."

"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, even though you're not certain it's true?"

The man shrugged, a little embarrased. Socrates continued. "You may still pass the third test though, the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my student useful to me?"

"No, not really..."

"Well, concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither True, nor Good, nor even Useful, why tell it to me at all?"

The man was defeated and ashamed.

This is the reason Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high esteem.

It also explains why he never found out that Plato was having an affair with his wife.

Yet another mixed message...

Apparently, Dickless wants us to save more:

Dr Cullen says the figures are evidence New Zealanders' savings habits are inadequate, which is why the Government is introducing the Kiwisaver scheme to lift the level of savings in this country.

Here:

OK, so we are meant to save.

Question: If half the bloody country is so poor that they need to be on a friggin' benefit (WFF), who does the saving?

Another bit of plagarism...

This is from England - but does it ring any bells for anyone here.....?

REST OF THE WORLD VERSION:
The squirrel works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building and improving his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks he's a fool, and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the squirrel is warm and well fed. The shivering grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

THE END

THE BRITISH VERSION:

The squirrel works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks he's a fool, and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the squirrel is warm and well fed.

A social worker finds the shivering grasshopper, calls a press conference and demands to know why the squirrel should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others less fortunate, like the grasshopper, are cold and starving. The BBC shows up to provide live coverage of the shivering grasshopper; with cuts to a video of the squirrel in his comfortable warm home with a table laden with food.

The British press inform people that they should be ashamed that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so while others have plenty. The Labour Party, Greenpeace, Animal Rights and The Grasshopper Council of GB demonstrate in front of the squirrel's house. The BBC, interrupting a cultural festival special from Notting Hill with breaking news, broadcasts a multi cultural choir singing "We Shall Overcome". Ken Livingstone rants in an interview with Trevor McDonald that the squirrel got rich off the backs of grasshoppers, and calls for an immediate tax hike on the squirrel to make him pay his "fair share" and increases the charge for squirrels to enter inner London.

In response to pressure from the media, the Government drafts the Economic Equity and Grasshopper Anti Discrimination Act, retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The squirrel's taxes are reassessed. He is taken to court and fined for failing to hire grasshoppers as builders for the work he was doing on his home and an additional fine for contempt when he told the court the grasshopper did not want to work. The grasshopper is provided with a council house, financial aid to furnish it and an account with a local taxi firm to ensure he can be socially mobile. The squirrel's food is seized and re distributed to the more needy members of society, in this case the grasshopper.

Without enough money to buy more food, to pay the fine and his newly imposed retroactive taxes, the squirrel has to downsize and start building a new home. The local authority takes over his old home and utilises it as a temporary home for asylum seeking cats who had hijacked a plane to get to Britain as they had to share their country of origin with mice. On arrival they tried to blow up the airport because of Britain's apparent love of dogs.

The cats had been arrested for the international offence of hijacking and attempt bombing but were immediately released because the police fed them pilchards instead of salmon whilst in custody. Initial moves to then return them to their own country were abandoned because it was feared they would face death by the mice. The cats devise and start a scam to obtain money from peoples credit cards.

A Panorama special shows the grasshopper finishing up the last of the squirrel's food, though spring is still months away, while the council house he is in, crumbles around him because he hasn't bothered to maintain the house. He is shown to be taking drugs. Inadequate government funding is blamed for the grasshopper's drug 'illness'.

The cats seek recompense in the British courts for their treatment since arrival in UK.
The grasshopper gets arrested for stabbing an old dog during a burglary to get money for his drugs habit. He is imprisoned but released immediately because he has been in custody for a few weeks. He is placed in the care of the probation service to monitor and supervise him. Within a few weeks he has killed a guinea pig in a botched robbery.

A commission of enquiry, that will eventually cost £10,000,000 and state the obvious, is set up.
Additional money is put into funding a drug rehabilitation scheme for grasshoppers and legal aid for lawyers representing asylum seekers is increased. The asylum seeking cats are praised by the government for enriching Britain's multicultural diversity and dogs are criticised by the government for failing to befriend the cats.

The grasshopper dies of a drug overdose. The usual sections of the press blame it on the obvious failure of government to address the root causes of despair arising from social inequity and his traumatic experience of prison. They call for the resignation of a minister.

The cats are paid a million pounds each because their rights were infringed when the government failed to inform them there were mice in the United Kingdom.

The squirrel, the dogs and the victims of the hijacking, the bombing, the burglaries and robberies have to pay an additional percentage on their credit cards to cover losses, their taxes are increased to pay for law and order and they are told that they will have to work beyond 65 because of a shortfall in government funds.

New Gold- Plated Bitch's Box

Details on the latest waste of OUR money Here:

"A new women's prison, described by the Government as a world class facility designed to help inmates turn their lives around, opened in Auckland today...."

What they have built is a time out facility for these slags to have a rest from their drugs, loser sperm donors and meal ticket kids.

A tent city ringed in wire with vegetable gardens to tend and wood to chop for fuel would work better.

The soft cock do-gooders seem to think that a taste of a better life will turn them around.

[Insert Tui Ad]

It will be a rest home for junkies, whores, theives and layabout trash.

They will be as likely to change their ways as a Frenchman is likely to move from living next door to a brothel!

The Uberti Walker Colt- 4 1/2 pounds of the most powerful handgun until the invention of the .357 magnum. Built out of modern materials, it has lost the nasty tendency of the original to explode in your hand!
I have enough for one of these, a kilo of powder, a couple of hundred balls and maybe a holster.

To hell with a new computer!

1/2 way

That's 1/2 the course done!

Thankfully, we are onto practical subjects now.

It's a bit like working & taxes- the first bit is for the govamint- 4 days of Legislation and Regulations, then 6 days on actually doing the job.

So for, it's been a doddle, if not a bit tedious. I'm wondering why I bothered going to school as i seem to have to keep repeating 4th form science & maths.

Scary thing is that many my age don't know basic maths. These people are adding chemicals to your water!

I'm glad to report that they are in the minority!

Another week and I can return to not poisoning the consumer- and knowing how and why I'm doing it.

Spot the difference

Trick question!- they are both mindless, shit-eating parasites!

Having so kindly decided to allow me to have some of my money back, they have decided to screw up the job.

"as we don't have your bank account details, we can't direct credit...."

BOLLOCKS!!! you wankers do have my bank details.

That's how I get my 'working for labourites' kickback every fortnight!

For the last two nights yer wanking automated phne system has been kaput, so I can't 'follow the friggin' prompts!'

I hope one of the worms pictured above gets confused as to which end your arse is (understandable) and crawls out your nose!

There is some hope...

It's refreshing to hear a room full of people from all around NZ sart snarling when the subject of government regulations are brought up. (yet again)

I'm on a course for an industry that is very heavily regulated (but what isn't?)

As one of the tutors commented, "I suppose they think that private industry WANTS to poison it's customers..."

Friggin' Idiot-stick pushers!

Once upon a time, the Post Office and Railways were full of deadwood.

You know the ones. Always leaning on a shovel or generally milling about, waiting for the smoko whistle or knock-off. The old codger who pushed a broom around a workshop, making no impression on the dirt. The cretin who's sole job was to 'Look after the gang's truck'. The terminally useless slattern who made the tea.

They are all gone now.

Or are they?

My latest observation is that they have devolved into NZQA.

(BTW, I'm off on a course for the next two weeks, so I may be a little quiet here ON ACCOUNT OF ALL THESE FRIGGIN' ASSESSMENTS!)

Clean the friggin' sand out of yer ears!

A slight adaptation of an oldy (but still good!)

The 72 Virginians

After getting nailed by a 500 pounder, al-Zarqawi made his way to the pearly gates. There, he is greeted by George Washington. "How dare you attack the nation I helped conceive!" yells Mr. Washington, slapping him in the face.

Patrick Henry comes up from behind. "You wanted to end the Americans' liberty, so they gave you death!" Henry punches al-Zarqawi on the nose.

James Madison comes up next, and says "This is why I allowed the Federal government to provide for the common defense!" He drops a large weight on al-Zarqawi 's knee.

al-Zarqawi is subject to similar beatings from John Randolph of Roanoke, James Monroe, and 65 other people who have the same love for liberty and America.

As he writhes on the ground, Thomas Jefferson picks him up to hurl him back toward the gate where he is to be judged.

As al-Zarqawi awaits his journey to his final very hot destination, he screams "This is not what I was promised!"

An angel replies "I told you there would be 72 Virginians waiting for you, idiot. What did you think I said?"

Consume Vast Quantities!

I went out for dinner tonight at The Royal Hotel, Featherston.

I can't remember the last time (if there ever was one) when I recieved a resturant meal too large for me to eat at one sitting- the Lone Star In Christchurch used to come close.

Tonight I found a eatery that defeated my appetite!

I had the marinated pork- about 1/2 a small pig served with enough wedges and coleslaw to feed the late pig for a couple of days! All washed down with Montieth's Dark.

Starters and desert were definitly out of the question- maybe if you spead the meal out over three hours.

The wife had a BLT that was on the same heroic scale. The meals are simple, but hearty and excellent value for money. The BLT & chips was $12.50 and the pork mountain was $15.50

The pub itself is a reincarnation of the old turn of the century timber two-storied pub. The accomodation upstairs will be finished this summer. Now tastefully restored the decour is polished wood and leather, with a roaring log fire and the usual assortment of stuffed animals, old farm tools and weaponry on the walls.

The leather seats are generous and comfortable. Tables and chairs are available on the two decks for those social outcasts wishing to smoke cigarettes.

For those needing such things, there is a large plasma screen showing SKY sports and a TAB & pokies keep the gamblers supporting the govamint's tax needs.

Meals can be had in the bar or in a large seperate dining room, more often used for group bookings.

Do the friggin' maths- is it worth it?

One of the news site I visit has a sponsered banner from some (probably) taxpayer funded busy-body group- www.switchitoff.co.nz

On of the state-the-bloody-obvious 'handy hints' is about turning electrical gear off.

Aparently, turning my PC off each night will save me $100 per year.

It will also take me five minutes each day to reboot the damned thing. (I know- it's an old PC!)

That's 35 minutes a week- 30.33 hours a year.

30.33 hours of rebooting the PC returns me $100.

Not exactly a worthwhile return for my time...

More crap that irritates me...

"It's worth getting a good frost, as we get such a nice day afterwards!"

That's because your fat arse is parked firmly in front of the heater! You sure aren't out there working in it!

This seems to be a predominatly female comment, more specifically ,from one who had never had to hew wood, pay the power bill, fix a leaking pipe with the air temperature on the bad side of zero, or geneally get their arse outdoors before the white stuff has thawed and the sun is well up.

It's easy to see the best in a bad situation, when it's happening to someone else...

Family support bribes and moochers

On and off the blogs, I've been hearing blanket refferals to those on family support as 'moochers'.

IMNSHO, WFF is morally wrong- tax should be getting cut axcross the board for all workers. This unadulterated bribe is causing some real dissention out there.

Take any workplace. A group doing the same job on about the same pay. But wait- those with kids are getting more thanks to liarbour handing some of their outrageous tax grab back to some. This is damned unfair- which sums up the current tax rort.

Gloat about in and you seriously risk a smack in the mouth! Nothing like unfairness to cause a division- thanks again liarbour- divide and conquer!

Can you blame those workers (note I said 'workers'- we will revist that later) for taking back what was theirs in the first place?

I can't (and for the record, I'm one of them)

They are no different than the professional or business owner who has a good tax accountant minimise what is taken from him by the government.

They are not Moochers! No more than anyone who files for a tax refund.

There are Moochers benefiting from this setup. The bludgers who breed more than they can support. Be they working or on some kind of dole- this rort was made for them! I don't know that family support will cause them to breed any more- they previously showed no restraint in that area!

They also have the gall to want the 'In work' payment. What part of 'in work' can't the moochers understand...

Dumbfuck of the week

Childcare Workers Fined Over Day Trip
01/06/2006
TVNZ
Two childcare workers have been fined after taking a group of pre-schoolers for an outing through a motorway tunnel.

Video Here:

The cops reaction was 'they were gobsmacked' and that was wy reaction when I heard this story!

Taking preschoolers into the Terrace tunnel (Wellington) is almost beyond belief. Where next?- a walk down the runway of Wellington airport?

Doesn't look like the govamint's insistance on (over) qualified child care workers has exactly panned out.

All the regulations, inspections, qualifications and certifications don't count for shit when folks don't have one iota of common sence between the ears...

How to hide your huge lotto win from the moochers

First, let's define the problem.

You WILL get aproached by every charitable organisation, national and local. You will also start getting hard luck stories from every passing aquaintance you have ever had. There will be expectations that you will 'help out' with mortgages, cars, medical costs, school fees and so on.

You will get approached on the street by people you have never met- on the mooch.

You can expect nastiness, envy and abuse.

This is not speculation- this is what I have been told first hand by lottery winners.

What to do?

The advice the lotteries commission give out is very sound. It is such good common sense it can't possibly have come from them directly!

The short version- put it on short term deposit for about three months- less a bit of cash for a spree- say $20-50k. Buy a car, a plasma screen or just blow it on hats!

This gives you time to develop a Cunning Plan.

People will notice you have money. The trick with telling sucessfull porkies, is to allways have some truth in the story. Admit to a second division win.

If you must chuck the job in, use a cover story about buying into a business using your winnings- that is also a good fob-off (all my money is tied up...)

Of course, once the 'business' is doing well, as it will, if you don't do drugs- houses can be upgraded and lifestyles can visably improve. Don't pay cash for a house- pay the minimum deposit and let the interst pay the mortgage. You can then tell any would-bemoochers that you are motgaged up to the eyeballs!

Holidays away are 'business trips' and there is no need to blow your capital on holiday homes and boats- use hotels and charters. Of course, you can own these and make them pay, if you are so inclined.

It would be easier to reestablish in a new town, but not everyone wants to do that. I want to stay right where I am. Living in a small town you really need to keep a lid on it. Drive to a larger centre to get your ticket validated or preferably, go direct to Lotteries.

That's enough for now- time to get ready for the afternoon shift...

How stupid can you get?

$18m Lotto winners fled country
8.25am Thursday June 1, 2006

"The couple who won $18m on the Lottery fled the country after the news broke, they revealed today.

Helen and Geoff Henderson bought the winning ticket in Kaeo, Northland, and their identity was made public at the weekend..."

More:

Are they certifiably insane? Who in their right mind would give their identity after a win like that!

Every leech, moocher, deadbeat and parasite will now beat a path to their door with hand outstretched.

My plan would to be to tell friends and family I had a large but much more modest win, which would explain the new ute and upgrading the house. I would start a dummy company to explain my lack of employment elsewhere (it will probably do some trading, but that's another story)

They will regret owning up to the windfall.

Wowsers, woofters and wankers- again!

Who's paying the bills meathead?

This one seems to have been produced with Fiji or the Wairarapa in mind. Getting a tradesman to commit to a day and time is like getting a 19 year-old lad to commit to a wedding date!

"Sometime in the next couple of days" seems to be the most precise timeframe on offer.

Returning a phone call is something out of a Tui ad...

It's a double bastard when you are not the one with the authority to tell them 'go stuff it' and in any case, you know the opposition is no better.

It's the old thing of never admitting you are too busy to do the job this week, least the customer goes elsewhere. - News flash- He's going to do that when you keep friggin' lying to him!

I know one plumbing firm that takes these lessons to heart and actually communicates with customers, advises of delays, gets the workers there ASAP and on time and has someone in the office to take calls and answer questions.

Is it a co-incidence that the owner is continually expanding the business?

Unbundling, Nationalizing- THEFT by another name.

Time for me to (belatedly) make my postion known.

I don't care much for Telecom- I don't care much for some of the people in the street, either- but theft from any of them is still wrong.

The confiscation, nationalisation or unbundling- call it what you will- is even more contemtable when it is done using the full powers of the sstate. It could not be compared with a fine or penalty, as telecom has committed no crime nor has it been convicted in the courts- the only time the state should have the power to seize assets.

Those who are clamouring for the benefits of this confiscation should not be called theives, themselves.

They are the moral equal of the guy down at the pub who happily buys a $200 plasma screen TV. They would never steal themselves, but are happy to benefit from the actions of the thief!

They are the ones who enable the thief to live by his dishonesty. They may not like the thief, but only encourage his stealing the property of others.

On the subject of Lawyers...

The devil visited a lawyer's office and made him an offer.

"I can arrange some things for you, " the devil said. "I'll increase your income five-fold. Your partners will love you; your clients will respect you; you'll have four months of vacation each year and live to be a hundred. All I require in return is that your wife's soul, your children's souls, and their children's souls rot in hell for eternity."

The lawyer thought for a moment. "What's the catch?" he asked.

A man died and was taken to his place of eternal torment by the devil. As he passed sulfurous pits and shrieking sinners, he saw a man he recognized as a lawyer snuggling up to a beautiful woman.
"That's unfair !" he cried. "I have to roast for all eternity, and that lawyer gets to spend it with a beautiful woman."
"Shut up!" barked the devil, jabbing him with his pitchfork. "Who are you to question that woman's punishment?"

A defending attorney was cross examining a coroner. The attorney asked, "Before you signed the death certificate had you taken the man's pulse?"
"No," the coroner replied.

The attorney then asked, "Did you listen for a heart beat?"

The coroner said, "No."

"Did you check for breathing?", asked the attorney.

Again the coroner replied, "No."

The attorney asked, "So when you signed the death certificate you had not taken any steps to make sure the man was dead, had you?"

The coroner, now tired of the brow beating said, "Well, let me put it this way. The man's brain was sitting in a jar on my desk, but for all I know he could be out there practicing law somewhere."

The sorts of people that piss me off...

Those that like to make comments like "... I'm too busy to think about what people might think of her image. I think if I worried about that I wouldn't get out of bed in the morning."

Then set their lawyers onto you for blogging harshly about them.

I think someone has a future in politics...

Another meathead for the Darwin Awards

As someone who has gone through all the rigmarole to legally own pistols, I have no sympathy for this wannabe, who has shot himelf through the head accidentally! Good friggin' riddance!

These CRIMINALS who own illicit firearms stuff things up for the many thousands of law-abiding firearms users in NZ, indeed- worldwide.

"Detective Inspector Mike Arnerich said the investigation had centred on the forensic evidence from the crime scene, post mortem, witnesses and confidential information from criminals.
He said: "We are satisfied that Mr Hogg shot himself. Although he was confident with firearms, he did not have a very good operational knowledge of them and he thought the 9mm Browning semi-automatic pistol was unloaded, when in fact it was not."

Should have stuck to softball BB guns, then.

You can keep the porn in today's glossy magazines. If doesn't stack up against the drawings that have stood the test of time. Class- not arse!

This blog has a new one most days.

This looks like a winner idea!

I was thinking of Not PC's piece on urban sprawl here when I read this:

Innovative subdivision for Weraiti
22.05.2006

BY MARLENE DITCHFIELD

One of the largest and most innovative subdivisions ever to appear in Wairarapa is about to be launched for public submission.

It'll be for people who want all the joy of living in the country, without all the commitment of land control.

Adopting a new concept in land development and unique to this region, the farm park subdivision takes in 74 hectares of undulating farmland atop the Weraiti hill, east of Masterton, commanding stunning 360 degree views of hill country and the valley floor to the Tararuas.
The big difference between this and other rural subdivisions is that the proposed 54 housing sites are all around only half a hectare each, with the surrounding farmland grazed by a farmer, all managed by a body corporate.

Sounds like a great idea- A lot here are buying 'lifestyle blocks' but are finding them too hard to look after properly. Here you get the best of both worlds.

Now let's wait for the great NZ clobbering machine A.K.A. the RMA to swing into action...

A Rude and Amusing Vegetable

No- it really is a rude and amusing vegetable! (This is all I had time to post today)

Better harden up...

"The police drive to encourage 1000 extra people start a career in the force got off to a bad start on the weekend when one interested Christchurch man was told by a recruitment officers his scarf was too "gay".
Simon Calcinai, aged 20, was at the Careers Expo at the Westpac Centre in Christchurch on Sunday when two uniformed officers told him the scarf he was wearing was "a bit too gay", The Press reported today."

I would suggest that anyone offended by that is not going to pass muster as a cop. They are sure going to get called a lot worse and won't be getting an apology either!

Better check out the hairdresser's stand at the next careers expo...

One rule for the peasents, one for the rulers...

"The Court of Appeal has dismissed a lawsuit over the Auckland RSA killings. Sole survivor Susan Couch and Tai Hobson, whose wife died in the 2001 attack, sued the Department of Corrections for $2.5 million. They blame the department for allowing killer William Bell to work as a barman at the RSA while on probation. "

Continuing with the trend of total failure to accept any form of responsibility, this case has been chucked out. As if it ever had a chance of success!
Of course, if a builder stacks something wrong which falls on someone or an electrician hooks up the wrong wire- the full power of the SState descends upon them, with great wrath and vengence.

How screwed up is that?

Correction!

Actually, I'm not quite correct in saying the SState won't compensate someone for their employee's screw-ups. Provided they are a prison inmate at the time, they will be compensated for 'suffering'

Lies, Utter Bullshit and Government Press Releases

Whop-de-do! The govamint are to recruit 1000 police.

What will the net gain be after retirement and the usual number telling their employer to get stuffed?

An number very close to, if not actually, zero.

I'm sure there are many out there that would love to be a cop and even be happy with the shit money it pays. Unfortunatly, a great many of the wannabes wouldn't be fit to be town dogcatcher.

The sort of person with the intelligence , common sense and self-discipline to be a good policeman is the sort of person in great demand for many other positions.

Why would they want to work in a thankless, poorly paid job for a backstabbing snake-in-the-grass employer?

Buggered if I know!

I'm just glad some of them do!

Reality Check

Young Workers Want Inspiration

11/05/2006
NewstalkZBA survey reveals young workers will move on if their manager is not dynamic enough

Spokeswoman Kim Smith says the main reason the group leaves jobs is because they want to work for a manager who is inspirational. She says they want a boss who can lead and motivate them, as well as being a trainer and mentor. Low pay is another reason for quitting.

Here is a reality check, younglings.

On entering the workplace you WILL get all the shit jobs, you WILL do all the scut-work, You WILL be paid less.

That's because you are worth less than a more seasoned worker. Get over it.

Get the crap you picked up in school out of your head. You ain't someone special, just another wage slave. You ARE expected to deliver and deliver more than a 'completed' on your tasks. You won't be the CEO or even senior management anytime soon (I'm not counting duty manager at McD's here!) You will find respect is earned, not a due.

Get that sorted and you can start moving somewhere.

To those with kids about to leave high school, I recommend a year in some scut work, such as fast food, labouring or process worker. THEN go to university, having learnt a few lesson at the school of hard knocks.

They will find Uni a lot more of a cruise and will accept being at the bottom of the food chain on graduating with more grace.

Remember-all generals start out as a pimply second lieutenant!

Human Rights Wankers

"Police should not be trusted with taser stun guns in light of recent controversy over possible abuses of pepper spray, human rights groups say. "

More moonbat dribble here:

What can I say but FUCK YOU!

These twats cry when some thug get a dose of 9mm poisoning, but don't want any options harsher than a stern talking-to available!

It's so easy to be critical and judge all police work on the odd excess that occurs. Try facing down drunk and aggro creeps daily for a living. Try dealing with the scum of the earth at their worst. Now and then some cops lose the plot- it's no wonder. When they get caught, they get punished. You might thing such things are covered up- they are- from the public. That doen't mean a cop who screws up gets off- they come down real hard on their own. Behind closed doors if at all possible.

But never forget they are all that keeps these scumbags from running totally amok and invading you comfortable towm house and stealing, raping and beating at will.

I would love some for these bleeding hearts to do some prison time. Not the holiday camp wings in minumum, but somewhere real scummy like most of the high medium and maxi wings. Where scribble-faces will make free with your posessions and orifices.

They would be wanting the Tasers replace with shotguns...

Here's one for Lindsay!

The teacher asks for a show of hands from those who could use the word "lovely" in the same sentence twice. Little Johnny, sitting in back, waves his arm frantically. The teacher ignores him.

She calls on little Suzie, who said, "My father bought my mother a lovely dress and she looked lovely in it." "Very good, Suzie," replied the teacher.

Next was little Michael. "My mummys an artist, and she painted a lovely painting of a lovely model" The teacher responded, "Excellent, Michael!"

Then, she reluctantly called on little Johnny. "Last night, at the dinner table, my sister told my father that she was pregnant, and he said "Lovely, thats just f*cking lovely!"

I can last for some months on a single compliment...

When I recently off on ACC for some time, I worked (unpaid) for a number of community groups.

I always figured, if you were not working, this is the sort of thing you should do- besides that, I like to keep busy.

One of my jobs was random task person for the local playcentre. I put up shelves, quake-proofed, fixed toys, mowed lawns and so on, for about six hours a week. I popped in today, being on afternoon shifts and they presented me with a certificate and gift voucher for my work!

That's more thanks than I have got in many a job I have had.

At the risk of sounding a bit corny, I feel that if the community is paying you, you should do what you can to repay them.

It's more rewarding than sitting on your arse watching SKY...

That'll Work!

Womans refuges in trouble

Here is another slant on the problem.

How about some of those women taking some responsibility for getting themselves in the prediciment they find themselves in? Sometimes personalities change the moment you move in- hell, I've found that out the hard way! But this is more the exception to the rule.

A hell of a lot of them need to start using the grey matter before moving in with some worthless POS.
Most of the time anyone with one eye opened and a couple of brain cells rattling around in the cranium could spot a lowlife not far enough up the evolutionary ladder to bring up a hairball, much less a family. Isn't the substance abuse, history of violence and the fact that he has been in and out of prison enough? How about the other abandoned offspring?

These are hogging the places of those deserving a place through no fault of their own.

Moving in with a lowfire with form knowingly- you get as much as you deserve.

That's not a popular point to make, but is true, neverless.

Dancing with the Stars

Another reason I hardly watch TV!

Not being on some kind of benefit, I can't afford Sky (do WINZ 'clients' get a discount?)

I don't give a rat's about who is on it of why they feel the need. The real question is- who would want to watch such a big bag of baboon's bollocks?

Have women descended so far they can't read Mills & Boone?

As for any 'Man' that would watch such things- He deserves what Sodom & the other place got!

I bet it's popular in Naenae!

A new element discovered!

A major research institution has recently announced the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element has been named "Governmentium".
Governmentium (Gv) has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.

Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert. However, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A minute amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take over four days to complete.

Governmentium has a normal half-life of 4 years; it does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.

This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration! This hypothetical quantity is referred to as Critical Morass.

It is also interesting to note that when catalyzed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium- an element which radiates just as much energy as Governmentium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

Naenae- a state funded shithole!

Lindsay doesn't like Naenae. I don't like it either!

It's a squalid, nasty place, as you so often get when there is a cluster of state houses. The row along the railway line are notorious for using the rail corridor as a rubbish dump, so much so that an excavator and trucks are regularly needed to clean this strip out. It's quite a site to see the rats bailing out of the trucks!

To look at the buildings, it would seem that sales of spray paint cans exceed sales of personal hygiene products and that roller doors are the most popular sort of shop frontage.

The main exports are prison inmates, dole bludgers and DPB spongers (note that I differentiate them from those who have a taxpayer-funded income for temporary support) The main employers are WINZ, CYPS, TAB and the Naenae hotel.

A six-metre chain-link fence around the perimeter would be an improvement and would make for a view such as is found in places like Rimutaka prison- the inhabitants should be quite familiar with this!

It's even worse than Masterton!

Addictions are for the spineless.

I've seen more than a few people, whom I would not consider particularly strong-willed, in general, beat addictions.

I've also seen some strong willed folk totally fail to do the same.

If you really want to you can get off the booze, smack or fags- It's down to the individual and what they want. If you want to stop a habit, it can be done- it isn't impossible. Hard- for sure, but not impossible.

My mother stopped smoking in her late fifties and hasn't lit up in over seven years now. My wife's great-grandmother gave it away at ninety (she thought she was getting a bit old for 'that sort of thing'!)

People with a lifetime of addiction- they just stopped- because they wanted to. Not because some wanker nanny-state enthusiast said they should or because they read the pathetic bloody warnings on the packs!

If someone says they wanted to quit but couldn't- I say they don't want to quit bad enough!

That is entirely their problem.

As for the tobacco companies flogging a product that kills people if used correctly- they would be out of business in very short order if people stopped buying the bloody product!

Nanny state loves to legislate against all it percieves as bad for us stupid citizens that can't/won't look after itself. Why not tobacco?

If you don't know the answer to that question- I have the deal of a lifetime for you!- just send cash to....

Warning- Warning- Danger Will Robinson!

Tsunami warning for Fiji, New Zealand03/05/2006 18:38 - (SA)

Los Angeles - A massive earthquake with a magnitude of 8.0 rocked Tonga in the Pacific early on Thursday - US monitors issued a tsunami warning for New Zealand and Fiji.
The US Geological Survey said a "great" quake struck at 4:26 am local time (15:26 GMT) in the middle of the islands that make up Tonga. Eight is the highest level on its measuring scale.
The Hawaii-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Center called on New Zealand and Fiji to take immediate action against a possible giant wave caused by the quake.
The epicenter was 155km south of Neiafu island and 160km northeast of Nuku'Alofa, the main island, the USGS said.
The quake was recorded 16km below the Earth's surface.
"We have a tsumani warning for Fiji and New Zealand and for the rest of the Pacific we have a tsumani watch," said Pacific Tsunami Warning Center oceanograher Nathan Becker.
"That means a tsunami is likely and New Zealand and Fiji should take the appropriate action," he told AFP.

Tough Shit!

There is disappointment over a judge's decision not to award compensation to the family of smoker Janice Pou.

http://xtramsn.co.nz/news/0,,11964-5727412,00.html

Here is a win for common sense and personal responsibility- something not seen all that often in NZ.

If you choose to smoke- accept that you will probably suffer health problems and earlier death as a result. End of friggin' story!

You have nobody to blame but yourself.

I might have a bit of sympathy for those who acquired the habit in the battlefields of WW2, otherwise, sympathy is to be found in the dictionary between 'Shit' and 'Syphillis'

And the point is...

Former top brass at Television New Zealand labelled MPs "bastards" and the "enemy", and described Parliament's select committee process as "useless" and "toxic".

http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3654111a10,00.html

In one email, Mr Boyce says the inquiry hearing will be "bloody" and refers to MPs on the committee saying "these bastards are our enemy".
He talks about being "devastated" when he saw who the committee wanted to hear from.
He also refers to the select committee as "the circus" and says TVNZ is "just a plaything for the politicians".

Ok, so they have stated what a hell of a lot of us also say- especially-"The bastards are our enemy."

Not so much 'News' as 'Olds'

The public service is supposed to be 'politically neutral'. If it's OK for most of them to have their tongues firmly lodged up Liarbour's arse, it must be OK for others to despise them- that's called 'Balance' ...
