South Auckland AGAIN

"A weekend police blitz on drink drivers in Counties-Manukau has netted 220 drivers over the limit, with police horrified by the actions of the worst offenders...

In all, 9429 vehicles were stopped and drivers breath tested. Of those, 220 returned positive results and will face prosecution in the next fortnight..."

The same sort of rate as the last time I blogged on this.

In Wellington, last Christmas, police were 'disappointed' to snap less than ten drunks, so I suppose 'Horrified' is the right sort of word to use.

Especially if you too have to drive in this area!

"Police are committed to continue with this hard line approach to remove these high risk offenders to ensure safety for other road users."

I'm sure you are. Pity that the courts are not...
