Mixed messages

I think that those who frequent these pages may have guessed that I fully support the dairy owner that shot a scumbag in the face. Pity it wasn't a .45!

I'm now waiting for the crown law office to announce what trumped-up charges he will be facing. Along with this chap, who gave a couple of idiot drivers a piece of his mind.

Here is the official party line:

"...Inspector Derek Erasmus, head of Canterbury's traffic policing, strongly discouraged people from taking the law into their own hands.

It was far better for people to take down details and call police, who would always use the information even if they could not respond at the time..."

Yeah, send the scumbags a message- the public MUST NOT confront or hinder criminals in their chosen occupation. Here is a free ticket and we may get around to investigating after we have filled out revenue quota!

Policing can only be effective with the support and cooperation of the public and I'm sorry to say that these policies are driving the public further away from the police. Look up the roots of the word 'Police' some time.

But then we have the story of another act of courage by a woman who really put her arse on the line and is rightfully honored for her courage.

What's it going to be?
