Something on your mind?

700 grains of copper and lead perhaps?

The headline:

Two die on roads

"A young man has been killed after he fell from a car and it ran him over on a beach near Tauranga early this morning.

The 22-year-old local man had been riding on the outside of the car on Omanu beach in Mount Maunganui about 1am, Senior Sergeant Carl Purcell of Tauranga police said..."

FAIL!

It was a beach- NOT a road.

If the MSM can't get the little things right- how can we trust them with the big stories?

oh!- thats right....

Camping is self-delusion

You go away and sleep on uncomfortable beds in a paper-thin tent that is cold at night and an oven during the day.

A call of nature means a walk across stony or wet ground- or keep a wide-necked container in the tent (forbidden by she-who-must-be-obeyed)

You live on a diet of small sausages in spagettii, packet noodles fish & chips and beer. That's the good part.

But the more beer you drink means more walking across the stony ground. Every time you get up to visit the facilities means the air bed moves and you get berated by the other person for waking her up due to your Warehouse bladder.

Everone for 100 meters around can hear you loudly break wind- something that happens often due to the diet of fish & chips, packet noodles and little sausages in watery spagettii washed down with vast quantities of VB.

Ten minutes after you get back to a semi-destroyed house (the previous packing efforts) you have convinced yourself that you miss it and want to go away next weekend...

Missing comments

Found a bunch of comments awaiting moderation (I have moderation turned off!), so I have released them.

I had to take a look as the crazy thing had put one of MY replies into moderation!

I'm off camping for a couple of nights if it stops raining, so it will go quiet here until Sunday.

I refuse to take the laptop camping!

The perennial summer rant

I have just been reading about yet another bludging bastard over at Lindsay Mitchel's blog.

This is the time of year when the bludgers are particularly noticeable and I find it incredibly irritating to see them sitting in a group on the front step of their poxy rental shithole, pissing up while the rest of the world is working!

When you have been on the job for six hours working outside in the hot sun and it's only mid-day and you have six hours to go yet- you tend to find a bunch of idlers guzzling Tui BROUGHT WITH YOUR TAX MONEY very friggin' frustrating!

I'm sure these products of drunken incest like to flaunt their taxpayer-funded life of leisure to the rest of us!

It would be incredibly easy to play the 'sickness' game myself- hell, I have all sorts of now arthritic old injuries I COULD play on and I have enough medical knowledge to fake what I don't have. But this thing called 'self-respect' keeps you going.

Yes- and?

"A cost-cutting directive from the Government to Radio New Zealand (RNZ) has been taken by unions and opposition MPs as political interference and a blow to the public broadcaster's ability to maintain standards and independence..."

Of course it is political!

The government is doing what we hoped it would do (and not NEARLY enough)- trim expenditure- actually, slash bloody great chunks out of it is what is really wanted!

If you want late night classical music, buy some CD's or download them from ITunes- with your own frickin' money!

If you want to listen to a story, they are also available on line- Smashwords have a selection of audio books (that link will get you in the right direction, but feel free to buy the ebook it links to!)

They are certainly cheap enough!

UPDATE:
Visit facebooks 'Don't save Radio New Zealand' page here- and help slap down the compulsion brigade!

What defense?

"A man who accidentally shot dead his girlfriend with a sawn-off shotgun last year may avoid imprisonment.

Justin Paul Goldstone, 21, admitted the manslaughter of his partner of six months, Samantha Joanne Henderson, 20, when he appeared in North Shore District Court today.

He also pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of a cut-down shotgun..."

Do I even need to start explaining why this is utter bullshit?

I doubt I would have to go past 'aiming a loaded firearm...'

Back on the crystal ball

Had a bit of a discussion about health nazis and smoking today.

The other party said that government would never ban fags- too much money involved.

I agreed that banning was unlikely, but what will probably is that they will be made harder to obtain legally- it will happen something like this:

Total ban on advertising.
Outlets to be licenced.
Outlet numbers to be restricted- probably shrinking-lid with a tobacco licence non-transferable.
Smokers to be licenced. ( yeah, butI bet you never believed it would be banned in the pub!)
Medical insurance denied to smokers. (you see, we know who you are now!)
Total ban in public (let labor in and watch!)

THEN it will be you evil drunkards turn!

Sound far-fetched?

The idea of banning smoking in the workplace or pub was considered laughable just a couple of decades ago...

Make it Right!

Venting- we need more of it!

Another Curmudgeon blogger rejects the Dark Side and joins us in voicing his contempt for all things left-wing.

Pay him a visit here and say hello- he just got started today.

No time for separatists here!

"Marae-based youth courts are gaining momentum in New Zealand with a third scheduled to open next month.

The Rangi Tahi scheme, in which youth offenders are referred to a marae once they've been through the youth court, has been operating at Gisborne's Te Poho o Rawiri Marae for almost three years..."

I'm dead against ANY kind of separate 'Justice' system in this country!

One law for us all!

Not that I think much of what poses as 'Justice' in NZ, but this separatist nonsense is NOT the way to go. Anyone else see Sharia law next? Especially as we follow England in it's Lemming-like rush to self-destruction.

Fix what we have!

Also, ask yourself WHO has failed the kids who are to appear in front of these courts, in the first place...

Noise cancellation technology

Low tech, high satisfaction.

Who cares?

About the extramarital rampaging of a GOLFER!

I mean, really- somebody who spends all day wacking a ball about and getting paid crazy money for it.

Could I care less about him?

Yet this non-story is dominating the news.

I suppose it save journos having to get off their wide arses and LOOK for news...

Just kill him NOW!

Here is the poster boy for the death penalty.

I can think of absolutely No REASON to keep him alive and wasting good oxygen!

If ever there was someone with a severe lead deficiency, it would be Burton. This needs to be rectified immediately with a couple of 158 grainers through the back of the turnip.

Then burn the POS to ashes and scatter them to the wind, that his body has no resting place on this earth, nor marker to remind folk that he existed.

Lifestyle block wars

"A former SPCA general manager has been warned by police after threatening to shoot a young boy's pony after it strayed on to his property..."

Do we have a slow news day here?

This sort of this goes on all the time with wandering stock aka dog tucker.

'Getcha bloody mongrel cows/dogs/sheep/pigs/ponies/homestay guests offa my bloody paddock or I'll shoot the bloody bastards!'

This bloke doesn't like horses either!

Thomas Kaput

Let's take rail off the nasty private companies as they won't run them properly- wasn't that how it went?

Fail.

Right for once

"The man at the centre of a police pursuit which left an innocent teenage courier driver dead on Auckland's north western motorway says his 13-year prison term is too long..."

I totally agree.

How long does it take to build a scaffold?

TIme to get acquainted

Plank- Pirate. Pirate- Plank.

Now to get better acquainted!

WRONG

Three get long jail terms for killing

"Shaun Sullivan - the violent recidivist criminal branded as ringleader in the fatal 2008 bashing of Featherston man Paul Irons - has been given a life sentence minimum non-parole 12 years in prison.

Sullivan, 26, was sentenced yesterday in the Wellington High Court alongside teenage accomplices Rangitera Spencer Walker, 16, who received a minimum non-parole life sentence of 11 years in jail for murder and Andrew Dean Kupa-Caudwell, 18, who was handed a sentence of six years in prison with a minimum of three years to be served..."

Hate to see what a SHORT sentence is then!

I call that bugger-all.

Especially for a recidivist criminal who should have been behind bars and not instigating this cowardly attack.
