This sort of this goes on all the time with wandering stock aka dog tucker.
'Getcha bloody mongrel cows/dogs/sheep/pigs/ponies/homestay guests offa my bloody paddock or I'll shoot the bloody bastards!'

Warned by Police? What does that mean exactly? If it had been a dog and he shot it, would the police have warned him?
