More bloody laws!

"Gangs should be viewed as the equivalent of terrorists, South Australia's Premier Mike Rann said in Auckland today.

The Government is considering legislation to ban criminal gangs in the face of a growing methamphetamine trade and gang activity..."

Sounds tempting and I actually agree with the Terrorist label applied to gangs, having had to deal with this subhuman trash on a daily basis.

However, I'm skeptical when this comes up close to an election. It sounds like a typical 'Tough on Crime' bit of posturing with no real intent to follow through.

There are plenty of laws on the books for dealing with gangs. These should be applied at every opportunity- and the police should be resourced to do so. They need a hard core in-your- face branch who specialize in stamping hard on recidivist offenders. These offenders should expect to be picked up every time they fart in public!

Now I make a point of saying 'recidivist offenders' not' gangs'.

I don't trust the curent government to define a gang. I suspect that means every group other than the labor party to them...
