And from the other side...

When an opponent declares, "I will not come over to your side," I calmly say, "Your child belongs to us already... What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community."

"Our teachers were absolute tyrants. They had no sympathy with youth; their one object was to stuff our brains and turn us into erudite apes like themselves. If any pupil showed the slightest trace of originality, they persecuted him relentlessly, and the only model pupils whom I have ever got to know have all been failures in after-life."

"What luck for rulers, that men do not think."

"Demoralize the enemy from within by surprise, terror, sabotage, assassination. This is the war of the future."

"The broad masses of a population are more amenable to the appeal of rhetoric than to any other force."

"The art of leadership. . . consists in consolidating the attention of the people against a single adversary and taking care that nothing will split up that attention. . . . The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belonged to one category."

Can it be coincidence that certain members of our ruling class studied history?
