If shopping is right down at the bottom of the list when it comes to things I enjoy, looking for a house would be at the far end of the types of shopping that are forced upon one.
It would be somewhat more bearable if folks picked a price, STATED IT, and stuck to it. But no, in a culture where haggling is not normally part of life, all the rules change when its houses. Even though the inevitable fact is that the house sells for within 5% of the list price.
Then there are the delusional types who cannot understand that the market is down and their tatty old box just is not worth what they think it is, as evidenced by the fact that it has been on the listings for a year or so. FFS- study your market and see what the houses in your area actually sell for. It will NEVER be what you THINK they SHOULD sell for.
I'm starting to see the attraction of renting...

Well, after our experience with house buying (and selling) I can state categorically: Never again!
