As you can see by the profusion of wires- this could end badly. To make things interesting, the tree is very dead and this is a high wind area. The spring gales are about to start and 120 km winds are the norm here. (we get trains blown off the tracks in this part of the world)The cutoff bits are where my 8 metre ladder ended- I cut them with a saw lashed to the end of a 3 metre pole.
I finally came up with a plan for rigging a gin pole to remove this last 10% of the branches and to lower the rest without smashing house, wires or next doors garden.
This is next weekends mission...
