Did Cactus Kate make the Earth move again?

The latest wobble was in Taiwan.

But seriously- has anyone else noted that there are a hell of a lot of earthquakes happening at the moment? A magnitude seven near every day.

We can discount global warming and immodest women, so is this the earth getting ready to throw a really big one somewhere in the rim of fire?

Surprised nobody has been speculating in the dead-tree press.

Obviously nobody has handed them a press release on the subject...

It is something I have noticed. In particular the number of big quakes south of the South Island slowly moving up to the Alpine fault. Following the series of Turkish quakes geologists realised quakes occur along fault lines like a zipper. The Alpine fault is overdue for a quake according to various research.
