One of life's mysteries...

Why does somebody?

Watch the living channel continuously
Own dozens of cooking books
Always spend money on new kitchen gadgets
Stock the cupboards to bursting

Then not cook...

Too much planning and thinking, not enough doing? Sounds like me with my gardening. Though, I pulled out a whole lot of weeds today, just didn't plant the plants I bought. They tend to stack up. Tried out my new shears as well.

Why do I buy a new set of expensive ring/open end gear spanners and still not do the job they were bought for?
Didn't someone once say "between the idea and the reality
Falls the shadow"? (T.S.Eliot maybe)

Somewhat off-topic, but after reading through a number of your entries - and recovering my composure (except for the sor ribs) - I added this blog to the list on my site.

If you'd rather not have it there, just let me know.

You might be suprised who links here.

You, Oswald, are simply slow at taking the hint ... the tools, victuals & books are to ensure there is no impediment to the doing.
The commandeering of the tv is reducing your alternatives at the same time as endeavouring to cue the behaviour.
I'm surprised that you of all people, Oswald would have married a 'do unto ... sorry ... for yourself' Germaine Greer type ... but then I guess you are pretty well armed.

All I need is a frying pan.Or in the summer, a Weber.

I don't need no stinkin' cookbooks to fry or grill.

And a salad is just stuff that food eats with dressing thrown over it to kill the tast while you get roughage.

Meat is the meal, the rest just fills up any empty spots left over.

Got meat?
Got fire?
Got chow.
