Thinking hard

About our future in NZ

The Iron mines of OZ are looking good right now.

I'm not bad on an excavator and better than most on a loader.

For that alone i can earn more than twice what i make here as a qualified tradesman.

If it were just me I would have already gone...

Not only would you earn far more, you'd pay less tax. And pay less for damn near everything.

Any more dissent from you and it won't be the iron mines but Dear Leader will put you in the salt mines.

Just did three weeks work in Oz. Interesting experience. There's two economies I think - mining and everything else. One's not that flash. No prizes for guessing.

"not that flash"?? The Oz economy has been booming for years, and not just the mining sector.
Their job vacancies are at an all-time high.

SYDNEY, July 18 (Reuters) - Australia's economy should enjoy rapid growth over the next three to nine months, a private forecaster's index showed on Wednesday, keeping upward pressure on inflation and interest rates.

The annualised growth rate of the Westpac-Melbourne Institute Leading Index of Economic Activity stood at 6.1 percent in May, off a peak of 7.4 percent in February but well above its long-term trend of 4.4 percent.
