Spent the day at the hot pools today. It was great to see something rough and ready- not overdeveloped for the delicate sensitivities of the tourist market. Wooden sides to the pools and real mud and sand in them! Nothing matched or was pretty and it had the DIY appeal of the classic NZ bach- before they were torn down and replaced by million dollar McMansions.
$4 for adults and a buck each for the boys.
We will return. This is the first time in many years that I have been pain-free while being totally sober!
And I must say I prefer smelling of sulfur to smelling of chlorine by-products...
My opinions on matters of the day that, generally, have pissed me off. Being described as a 'Surly Curmudgeon', by those who meet me on a good day, I have a poor regard for the human species. This is my place for my free speech- not bloody yours. Crap under your own rock.

How is the drought working out for you?
Not so good, probably.
It's going to get worse.
So ask yourself- where are all the dams that could be storing water for drinking and irrigation?
Thats right- they haven't been built- thanks to the RMA and greenie appeasement.
So when you get told you can't water your garden, have gotten shit prices for the stock you must thin out or you can't flush the crapper- you know who to blame.
So stop voting for parties that are into greenie appeasement.
And physically punish the next greenie that opens their mouth and that included to draw breath!

Some animals are more equal than others
Angry comments about the officer's actions have already peppered social media sites and talkback radio. He's been called "gung ho" and "over-eager" by some, said Rodney police area commander, Senior Sergeant Scott Webb..."
Feckin' incredible! A shark kills a man and the cop who shoots at it has now offended the 'animals are more important than us' loons!
As for the SPCA- they have gone from crazy cat-worshiping single women to just plain barking mad, with the following statement from the chief fish-hugger:
"...most people understood the risks of swimming at sea, and killing a shark for its actions was unnecessary..."
I do wonder what is REALLY in those drums of chemicals I put in the water...
