We have this Backwards
Gated communities are becoming more popular, but I can't help think that we have this the wrong way around.
We need to put the fences and gates around the worst communities. The gates would be a good place to put the local police station, too.
In my area, most of the police calls are to a block not much more than 500m on a side.
Ring-fence those fuckers with concertina so we don't need to aspire to an enclave with automatic gates and a security fence.

Hang them High!
Car thieves.
Preferable drag-hang the scum!
Our car has had a window broken, ignition switch mangled and the dash trim torn apart by an inept, useless shit-eater who couldn't even do the job properly.
Of course the plods are only interested in folk going 5k over the posted limit and even if they caught the subhuman piece of shit, a judge would give him home detention.
A rotting corpse would be a worthwhile addition to the nearest lamp post. Especially seeing as the light has been out of action for the last month or so...

What I have been up to
About the time I stopped posting here, I started selling books on Trademe. I had a small mountain of surplus books and I decided to turn them into money. I have never been into the selling thing and it a bit of a challenge to try something new.
Turns out that I'm not too bad at it.
This has also led to a lot more reading. It's a double win for me. I buy books, read them, then sell them.
This is the other reason I have absent.
The quadruple bypass thing has not helped, either...
