So i'd exclude most public servants from a list of eligible voters.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14299289.post-58856892179976417032007-09-23T23:22:00.000+12:452007-09-23T23:22:00.000+12:45The IQ test wouldnt work. All with high IQ and absolutely no experience of life and an almost complete absence of "common sense"- which, unfortunately, is not all that "common." People like Douglas Alexander, Ed Balls, the Milliband brothers and Hilary(thats a bloke!) Benn all impress me as fugitives from the planet Zog,completely out of touch with the unfortunate non-thinkers who continually vote to keep them in power. On a visit to my old home town yesterday I saw many consequences of socialist policy. At 6 o'clock in the evening young drunks/druggies wandering about dressed in track suits and carrying the inevitable can of lager, young girls, hardly out of school, some probably still in school, dressed in just-about enough clothes to cover their vital assetts and dragging screaming kids behind them. Babies rearing babies. All these sad specimens have the vote.None of them know a damn thing about the state of the country.Democracy? Fatally flawed and we will pay for it one day as the inmates, increasingly control the nuthouse countries we live in.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14299289.post-84841138305227906662007-09-23T22:07:00.000+12:452007-09-23T22:07:00.000+12:45Democracy is far from foolproof. I would relish watching people turn up, shrug and walk off. They wouldn't be ACT or Libertarian voters Oswald. Meaning that the unproductive, the parasites and the permanently baffled still have a (constitutionally limited) say in the running of the country but no say in the running of you, your life, or your dinner.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14299289.post-22989928543688693552007-09-22T11:58:00.000+12:452007-09-22T11:58:00.000+12:45I heard fro a casual on-call worker yesterday that...I heard fro a casual on-call worker yesterday that he was able to sign for income top-ups with WINZ (?) whenever he gets less than 40 hour's work to have his income made up to the full-time equivalent. As awell as an accommodation allowance etc.
And here's the kicker--he swears that the whole process, from registration to claiming can be done online by simply providing a scan of a driver's licence or an eftpos card!
Anyone know if this is true?KGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01940428991630766942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14299289.post-71043859327379208972007-09-22T07:49:00.000+12:452007-09-22T07:49:00.000+12:45If I was president, there would be a few more 'Gro...If I was president, there would be a few more 'Ground Zero's' around the world!

And sales of Hemp Rope would be going up...Oswald Bastablehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11828229103486326473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14299289.post-56802858028114201262007-09-22T07:37:00.000+12:452007-09-22T07:37:00.000+12:45Would you mind running for president of the US in ...Would you mind running for president of the US in 08?

Kay, thanks...Deadmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08449318388713585299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14299289.post-7677553346029648272007-09-21T23:42:00.000+12:452007-09-21T23:42:00.000+12:45I've been saying this same thing for a while, OB.I've been saying this same thing for a while, OB.Pandayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11103853686978003169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14299289.post-7225474392876108222007-09-21T22:23:00.000+12:452007-09-21T22:23:00.000+12:45Well said OB, you have a good point, though i'd be...Well said OB, you have a good point, though i'd be happy with just voluntary voting. I don't get this forced to vote thing here in OZ, is it the same there?

The way i see it, if we make it voluntary, we won't have to put up with those who vote based on who has the best looking placard outside the voting station or who can tell the most amount of lies. On occasion i've heard people on the radio call it the 'ning-nong' vote.MathewKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14385674205383405783noreply@blogger.com
